There it is. The bases being covered.

Edwards is getting crucified on X by the dippers for this second tweet. If Isak is sold then Edward’s reputation really is in tatters mind.

I think it would be foolish to assume that we didn't consider the possibility of him leaving as part of our striker search.

But its also possible we were looking to bring another big name striker in along with keeping Isak as was reported earlier in the summer.

We bought Isak in initially to go along with our #9, so its not like we csnt have 2 starting caliber strikers on the books.

Also from a PSR perspective, theirs nothing stopping us from bringing in a Wilson replacement and a young up and comer to bed in if we assume Isak will be sold anyway next summer at the latest

Guess you agree with me that the quote from Edwards was bs then?

Really don't think they would intentionally put us in the position where we would have to sell in June again. Having it at as backup plan incase Liverpool didn't meet our asking price? Maybe.

Yeah because we have an abundance of them in the squad, it’s not as if we released Callum Wilson earlier in the summer or anything. This is the NO post equivalent of "no you can’t have a Domino's, we have Domino's at home"

Nice metaphor.

You believe what you will. I dont think for a second that we would spend half of our summer budget on a backup to Isak, especially when the standard of our squad is the way it is.

It also seems very likely that Wissa has been on his way to us for some time as the "Wilson replacement", just waiting for Brentford to find theirs first.

Aye on that twitter post they come across as right twats. Saying that Isak should sue us.

Why should Isak sue us? Maybe we should sue Isak for breach of contract, and Liverpool for blatant tapping up

Of course he can stay. Or do you want to see the club remain as mid table proposition to the outside world?

Your Lordship, it is our position that NUFC is honouring the contract my client signed against his wishes.

He will poison the dressing room and spread negativity.

I'm sure they were definitely taking the players side when the shoe was on the other foot and Liverpool just arbitrarily decided that the release clause in Suarezs contract wasn't valid when Arsenal activated it.

Not that we need reminding of this - but feel  like it's worth pointing out that Liverpool were 7th in '12/13 w/ no UCL. Suárez had ~3 yrs left on his contract + disputed £40m clause; Arsenal bid £40m+£1, Liverpool said no despite his desire to leave, and kept him for '13/14 (finished 2nd). They then sold him when they were ready to Barca in '14. Isak in '25 has no clause, has ~3 years left on his contract and we have UCL this year - we're within our rights to expect and hold on to our best players and sell them when we are ready to do so - just as they did then. So their fans who can’t fucking look up history or think of history at their great honorable club, need to get a life.

We need to stop listening to and caring what Liverpool fans are saying. They're a bunch of self-righteous, hypocritical cunts who are a borderline cult.

Unless the rest of the dressing room are professionals.

The only option for us at this point is to keep him.

I'd rather risk a bit negativity in the changing room than going int a CL inclusive season with Osula as our starting striker.
