Vinny Green Balls
To me, he's weakening the club's leverage by giving the media any of this shit to run away with. It sort of does make sense that he and the club are in total disagreement on this, and he is using the media to break a possible standstill.

That's not how I see it. "I want players who really want to play for this club". That's a great slap in the face to Isak.

Vinny Green Balls
Another possibility is that Howe totally knows that the club refuse to move him on, and is using the media to attack Isak.

Wandy
I wonder if Howe is prepared to let Isak go but the Saudis are refusing. If so I back the club all the way on this.
christ
Hard to assess Howe’s responses without knowing the exact questions, but I don’t think there’s anything in what he’s said that undermines the club’s position.

Or he has accepted their decision, but is slapping Isak in the face through the media.
Kanj
Remember he said this yesterday: “I want Alex to be playing today. I want him training tomorrow. We would love the player to be with us — let me make that absolutely clear. There is no part of me that does not want that outcome — but I don’t see the current situation changing before Aston Villa.”

It's bonkers, but it would definitely work on getting a tune out of him. I'm completely devoid of emotion for this player now. I just want to have his goals for one more season whilst also spiting him and Liverpool FC this summer.

Seems to forget the big risk we took on him in the first place after a very poor season. He was nowhere near the striker he is now before Howe got his hands on him. He also needs to be thankful for the players he has behind him who allowed him to become the main focus of our attack, creating the chances in the first place. He also can’t forget the fact that he is an utter cunt.

Seemed to me that for Isak it was only another step in his career.
Kanj
Think it’s as simple as Howe has told him he wants him part of the squad and NUFC. isak doesn’t want to play for NUFC right now and has elected to pull himself out of Asia trip and the sela cup. isak won’t be training with the team unless he’s commited to NUFC. isak won’t be training with the team until he’s also accepted by the team and group. board have either told him or his agent he is not for sale - particularly for he and his team’s antics. Mattoon
Howe doesn't want Isak gone, he wants him to want to play for us and until he does he has to sit out, it's simple. He's been told unequivocally that he's going nowhere and he'll have to eat humble pie at some point.
Vinny Green Balls
Getting Wissa in immediately is absolutely vital not only to replace Wilson, but it does weaken Isak’s position of being the only real striker we have (until AFCON at least)
