Following on from that Stefan Borson article, been tons of tweets from Liverpool fans, seemed to be what they were hoping for...

Think I'd prefer him buying out his contract and buggering off abroad, than going to those horrible cunts for £110m.

Long live John Ruddy.

I'm absolutely positive that this is going to catch out loads of Liverpool leaning accounts.

"No wonder he wants to leave Newcastle, look at the toxic, bullying culture they have there"

These twatter posts just tell us that Liverpool are absolutely desperate. Isak's had his tantrum today through client journalist Ornstein, so they don't really have any leverage left. I think they'll make a slightly larger bid, with the plan that he hands in a transfer request once that's rejected. Then they'll make a third bid, again slightly higher, in the hope that the pressure is too much. That's the only play Liverpool have left at this point, but a transfer request loses its value when you've already done it through a joirnalist. Can Liverpool afford to let this rumble to the last few days of the window? You'd think they'd want time to get an alternative in.

Good point. Liverpool can’t wait for this to play out over weeks. They need it sorted in days otherwise they risk being light up front should it not happen.

I’d happily wager money that you’re right here - this likely is how this plays out

At any point are any of the English press going to hold Liverpool FC to account for their role in this?

I don't know how many times I have to say it, we are not "settling" or "cutting our losses" or in any way accepting a bid of £130m, probably not even for the purported £150m, we're not strengthening a team we want to compete with, beyond our means and we're not throwing away an entire season in the wake of some flat pack Ikea nonce hoying his toys out the pram. I'm so immeasurably glad some folk in here aren't in charge of the club, the Saudis will not be embarrassed by a bunch of shell suit, perm and paedo mustache faux gangsters.

At the end of the day the "media narrative" means nowt. All those media cunts want is clicks, shares, callers and viewers. It's how they make their money

This is one business trying to acquire an asset from another business. But the asset isn't for sale and contractually it belongs to the company who currently own it

No amount of Twatter posts, Talksport commentary or Sky Sports News Breaking Updates will be factored into the discussion about the sale at Board level

You think PIF are going "aye, lets sell Isak because Ornstein and Winter and Romano said on Twatter that we should"

I swear man, social media and 24/7 news media is just highly addictive toxic noise. Delete those apps from your phones and stop posting that utter shit on here. You'll thank me for it

Club’s media day was today, where the players get pictured et al for pre match graphics and stuff. Wonder if he was even involved.

Would love it if he were photoshopped into the content, just to drive home the point. [emoji38]

The guy should have done this in June

He knew how he felt towards the end of the season so why wait until all the 'big name replacements' are all signed up? The simple answer is that he's an award winning twat of the highest order. The owners must avoid playing his games. He stays for a year then fucks off to the highest bidder (but not dogasslickerpool).

I never expected much endorsement for our side of the argument. There's far more money and media to be made from Isak joining Liverpool than staying here.

That said, it's intriguing to see some criticizing his conduct and advocating for him to put in a transfer request. To me, that's a glimmer of light that people see this for what it is. A player is making a lot of noise but avoiding the action that goes with it. Liverpool are much the same with their regurgitated briefings about 'only making an offer when Newcastle's stance changes'. Throughout it all, only one or two have ever asked, what about Newcastle? Liverpool want to kick on and win more, and so do we. That's why we don't want to sell him, and that's why if we feel we must, we only do it when we feel a suitable replacement has been secured.

If I ask to buy a bloke's car and he tells me it's not for sale, I'm not being respectful by going back every third day and saying I'm willing to make an offer when his stance changes. I'm being an annoying prat.

Guys, a transfer request does fucking nothing. He gives up a few million in "loyalty bonus"  there are no legal avenues for him to force a sale through it, the club can say "cool" we still don't want to sell you. The transfer request is so immaterial to a deal of this size. It's a joke. It means nothing. He doesn't have to hand in an official transfer request to prove his point, he already has made that public and his intentions are abundantly clear.

I can understand players wanting to play in London, it's as glamorous as England gets, but Liverpool! Its a fucking dump full of inbred people that talk funny. At least Geordi sounds cool, and has a rollercoaster in a shopping mall. What's not to like?

We need a clear club statement to put this to bed once and for all — whether that’s setting a £150m price, stating he’s not for sale at all, or confirming he won’t be leaving this summer.

Isak and his agent are clearly trying to wrest control of the narrative again with this nonsense.

I still think he should go — if we can bring in two strikers (however unlikely that is now) — but their tactics are clearly aimed at winding up the supporters and paving the way for a lowball bid.

No we do not. Very, very tinpot.

The club are playing it perfectly by not getting involved publicly and letting Liverpool know it’s £150m.
