Or Isak to Liverpool is done, and we are working on securing a replacement before it is announced.

No need for the client journalists to agitate if it’s a done deal.

They'd be cock in hand if the deal was done. No chance they could keep that under wraps.

Difficult to see it as a done deal when there are no replacements we can sign. I think that's part of the reason why Isak is going scorched earth. Him and his agent are getting desperate. Not sure Liverpool are all in though unless they get a big discount.

They only know what Liverpool feed them, so if they were told to keep away from the subject as they are pretty much done and they don’t want anything to jeopardise it, then they would keep their mouths shut, knowing they would get the exclusive when the time comes to announce.

What they won’t do is go against Liverpool, as they won’t be fed information going forward.

I think something has happened behind the scenes, and if Liverpool had walked away then we would have known about it.

Does feel like Liverpool have told their hired help to halt the media campaign.

They would make more money breaking that story than what Liverpool are paying them. The deal is far from done

I don’t think Liverpool pay them anything, what they do is give them ongoing and up to date information and expect cooperation in return. Like any source, once you break that trust then the information dries up.

The deal wouldn’t be done either by the way, it would be agreed in principle depending on us finding a replacement, which isn’t guaranteed.

I don’t see any other reason to go quiet, Liverpool know what the 2 conditions are to getting a deal done.

I just don’t want the narrative that Wissa will be our Isak replacement.

I'm perfectly fine with it short term. Need another striker ofcourse, but it doesn't have to be the long term Isak replacement, we can find him later.

Or it could be they’ve moved on to other targets across other areas. Maybe they have actually been told to stop leaking stuff by our end if they want to sort a deal. As was reported by a few Twitter accounts, I believe.

Or it could be that there are just no updates whatsoever as it’s gone quiet after the latest attempt at a power play.

All of that would be far more believable than this being a done deal and that none of the absolute gobshite journos have reported on it. Along with us not being linked with any other strikers, I don’t see how that makes any sense at all.

Liverpool haven't walked away, but I think it's looking like they will only buy Isak at a certain price, probably no more than £130m at a push. Even then they don't know if we would sell so no wonder their leaks have stopped and it is all on Isak now to try and force our hand. They probably realise it's not happening.

Not saying Wissa is Isak level, but let's say he'd taken and scored all the pens Mbeumo had last season...

Wissa: 26

Isak: 27

He's clearly a good enough stop gap vs rushing into the wrong young marque striker.

Someone just posted (on another forum) an Indykaila tweet about a 120+5 mil deal in the process of being hashed out between the clubs. I’d be raging if that were anywhere close to the truth.
