Refusing? Or maybe not able to as his head is all over the place? It would tally well with what Edward’s said in his article last week, ie he’s being told he is staying no matter what, and therefore needs to go away and come to terms with it.

Really feel for him like. Having to play centre forward for Newcastle United and get paid 7 million pound a year. All the free merch, top class training, travel and bait. Would take some coming to terms for me too. Bless his cottons.

Agree. We all know though that they all exist in a different universe to the rest of us.

Isak’s camp won’t rubbish it because they want the situation to be unretrievable. His agent will have briefed all of the necessary media outlets with the same story.

The club haven’t even been asked if the player is on strike in any media briefings. Howe has not been asked the question even once. They are not going to fuel the fire by answering questions that they haven’t even been asked.

All of Howe’s answers so far point to Isak saying “sorry boss but I can’t do my job while my head is affected by all of this”.

It's all just a play on words. Fact is he's refusing to play for Newcastle United which is why we've had to play our opening game of the season without a centre forward.

We've been told he's gone on strike. He's not playing. Nobody has contradicted that.

You can't just believe the news you want to believe.

But that is exactly what you are doing. In reality there are no facts in this case. Neither the club nor the player have said he is on strike. Everything that is being reported is based on interpretation from both the agent and the club’s communications.

Eddie has basically alluded to him refusing to play

Do you seriously think we chose to go into our opening league game of the season without a centre forward?

However you want to word it, he wouldn't play for us on Saturday. He won't play for us on Monday either.

Of course I don’t. I’m sure Eddie did everything he could to talk Isak around but the player has said he can’t/won’t until the situation comes to a head one way or the other.

The way these scouse cunts have openly tapped him up and have the audacity to think we should just accept a low ball bid riles the fuck out of me.

They’re basically offering us similar money to Caicedo for one of the top 3 strikers in the world. The attitude appears to be we’ll offer what we want and we’ve weakened your position so much you’ll have to take it.

There’s no way in the world we can sell him to these cunts, it’s fucking outrageous arrogant behaviour.

So he's refusing to play then. He's refusing to do his job. Fair enough he's not staging a walk out or involving his Union Rep, or going on the picket line because this is football and it's not like a normal workplace, but in football terms he's gone on strike.

In football terms? There’s no such thing as far as I’m aware. In all walks of life there can be all sorts of reasons why a person tells their employer they won’t be coming to work for a period of time.

If Isak is still a NUFC player after September 1st I bet both the club and the player completely refute that the player was ever on strike. I can literally envisage Howe in a press conference saying “Alex wasn’t in the right headspace to contribute to the group”.

He's contracted, and paid handsomely to play football for Newcastle United. Because of his refusal to play we had to play our last game without a recognised striker. Almost certainly meant we dropped 2 points. Dress it up any way you like, and it's clear that you're desperate to see a good side to this so fair enough, but those are the cold, hard facts.

No doubt if he's still here after September 1st he'll be full of regrets because he'd be in limbo. He doesn't want to be here and the fans don't want him here.

Should sue the cunt for damages or misrepresentation or whatever the legel term could be.

Legal - probably breach of contract claim as I would imagine there would be clauses relating to making yourself available to play and if not you would envisage it could be an implied term.

I’m just looking for balance in this. I detest Isak’s behaviour in all this but I just wonder how much of it is driven by his agent. It’s one thing to want to move to another club but something else to see it play out like this. I just doubt that the player is as cold and calculating as being presented, but he is certainly showing himself to be very stupid in allowing it to carry on in this fashion.

If he comes back I certainly will never idolise him again, but I will definitely will him on to score goals. His contribution to the progress of NUFC is all that matters.

I firmly believe Eddie gets the absolute best out of any player under him. Once they leave they won’t improve. They will stay at that level or drop off due to a lower volume of fitness style.

isak was brought on so much compared to before we got him.

He is only in the shop window because of Eddie. With respect for who created him. He should stand on a stage and grovel like a bitch.

I can assume he has been asked twice. Then after that. Just like when some fucker owes you money. Ask twice then after that you’re on your own pal.

Fuck him. Let’s create a new Isak and let this one fuck his career

No need for balance. It’s not that sort of situation. Can’t blame the agent. Intelligent man. Dumped on us.

He could just claim stress and needing time away to sort himself out.

You know and I know that this would be bollocks but we also know that from a legal pov it would hold up and be a valid reason to be away from work

Some nightly thoughts.

The guy have been in far worse situations over his years, he have had a really good season in spain, struggled in this national team and havn't uttered a word or complaint.

Neither have he done until now in a Newcastle shirt. Something feel a bit wrong? I don't think he have any ill will against Eddie, and still Eddie seem to be surprisingly forgiving, even though that is how that good man would be either way.

My gut feeling just tells me there is something that been brewing for quite some time, like he absolutely despise our management, beyond repair, like there is no trust at all between them. And if its the case, whatever brewed this feelings seem to be more than just a denied contract? Either is that or is agent have him completely by the balls.

Wouldn't other players have felt this far sooner though?

His agent would have been leaking stuff before the window even opened [emoji38] It's pretty obviously a direct reaction to Liverpool's interest otherwise it makes absolutely zero sense why they've waited all summer for any of this to come out.

He'd have probably got his move if he didn't wait until there was only viable option left and who they themselves had just dropped 90m on another striker.

swap deal with barca for ramos and two youth prospects from their academy that would probably walk into half the teams in the league. i do think real life is FM, yes, but also why not at least ask
