He'll maybe be thinking that if he doesn't attend the awards gala that it's just an extension of his strike. A public come and get me message.

Or perhaps he just doesn't want cheap canapés to a pointless ceremony nobody cares about or the focus on him the whole time or be asked questions, else he'll shrivel under the camera lights like a vampire.

Think it's well past the bridge building stage now. Clearly his team mates have had enough of him now judging by the subtle digs they've been getting in about him in the last week, and I'm yet to speak to a Newcastle fan who ever wants to see him in the 1st team again.

I had a walk along to Whitley Park yesterday to watch the U21s. That's the environment he should be playing his trade in this season. If it costs him a World Cup place then that's tough shit.

Putting Isak in the u21s will just plummet his value, so thats a pointless suggestion tbh

This situation is getting more and more odd. What the fuck is happening in his head?

If I was him I'd be furious with Liverpool, they've made him look really daft by not putting in a proper bid at all.

At least with Wissa we offered more than a fair price.

I cannot believe things are turning out like this mind. I remember when he signed and thinking that he was quite intelligent, the way he spoke about the game and how he came here partially because of the way we play.

He’s turned out to be an absolute cunt. Typical thick as fuck football, some may say.

This is all fine, club remaining and will remain stoic over the whole thing as it should.

I'm finding it is getting quite exciting and fascinating now.

The circus will roll out around us, and we will just crack on.

Isak has managed to de-humanise himself with all this, so one it's helped to the point I don't give a crap what happens to him personally and secondly it also helps the club's position to deal with him with less emotion and as an asset without seeming callous.

Re. the Sweden manager bumping his gums about the whole story. Whilst it's true, it's pretty unlikely to be anything other than a gentleman's agreement given his agent and Liverpool would have already leaked it; anything to paint us in a bad light.

Probably a gun to it, going off other Swedish players agents.

Or he's told the Sweden manager one side of the story because Isak's reputation is in the dirt right now.

Past caring really, the Sweden manager just wants his goals and what else could he say.

I don’t know how he isn’t exceptionally embarrassed by all this?

He’ll look at all the scousers wanking themselves silly over this and convince himself he’s doing the right thing

It's not just all about money. That's what's ruined the sport. Personally I'd rather play him in the U21s for a season and sell him to Barcelona as Lewandowskis replacement next year for £70m than sell him to Liverpool now for £120m.

At some point clubs need to make a stand against these mercenaries and their agents. Rolling over and letting him get his move despite only being 3 years into a 6 year contract wouldn't do us any favours whatsoever as a football club amd makes us look a soft touch.

We need to take the power away from the players and their agents and give it back to the clubs, not the other way around.

Agree better suffer now so in future Cartel Vulture Clubs will try to not mess with us anymore.

There have been hints that something else has affected him, haven’t there?  Didn’t Bruno say something about him going through a tough time?  Wasn’t he burgled a couple of times and could it be something to do with that…?

Whenever Eddie or anyone else for that matter has spoken about him, they’ve always referred to how intelligent and thoughtful he is, so I can’t get my head around this simply being a “toys out of the pram” reaction to not being effectively handed over to Liverpool.

It feels like the degree to which he doesn’t want to be at the club is actual desperation…

Yet Liverpools players have a history of being burgled more than any other clubs and he's itching to go there.

We will be doing all of that simply by refusing to let him leave.
