Crazy to think that the only thing stopping Isak from putting in an official transfer request in order to force a move to his beloved Liverpool is Isak's own greed. He really wants to play for Liverpool, but not quite enough for him to forgo his loyalty bonus.

What a snake.

And Liverpool really want Isak but aren’t prepared to do anything other than unsettle and lowball for the player. Match made in heaven. Shame it won’t be realised this window!

The transfer request still means fuck all. We still need an offer that we deem acceptable and need to sign 2 strikers we actually want.

It means that we don’t have to pay bonuses, signing on fee’s and the proportion of wages we’re liable for in his contract (which could be the whole 3 years left) without a transfer request we could sell him and still have to pay him and his agent upto £12m, that’s what he won’t put in a transfer request

A transfer request would have made sense in a wider and different strategy, and from a "don't be a coward and just own up to what you want" point of view.

But if he hasn't done it so far, there's now zero point doing it after last night. It's not an obligation for us to sell and it's clearer than ever that this isn't just about an amount - it's also about getting replacements and power.

That's why our statement said conditions as opposed to fee or deal.

We need to get someone in, receive an acceptable bid and it wouldn't surprise me if we'd said that you can't join another PL team.

Considering this deal is dead, the best thing for him to do from a PR standpoint would be to unexpectedly start the game against Liverpool.

He won't do that unfortunately, because he seems to be advised by the most incompetent football agent I've come across in a while.

If he wanted to get the fans back onside he would start and bang in a hatrick against Liverpool.

The agent would also forfeit a chunk of his earnings with a transfer request and as Adam Clery pointed out, he doesn’t have any other clients as big of a meal ticket as Isak. He views this as his big pay day and won’t let go.

Just wondering how that plays out.

A "meeting" followed by word or a "nice discussion" or an "understanding from both sides"...

For him to play again, he will need a statement of some sort to the fans because hes going to receive so much abuse, hes going to want to try and dampen that somewhat.

You know what's worst, the kind of guy Howe is, he will try and protect him from the fans in someway.

Time for Eddie to go full Darth Vadar on the cunt.

Maybe dont put your signature on a 6 year contract if you don't understand how legally binding it is you undereducated buffoon. Maybe now he's got it through his thick head that it's not going to happen. If he has just one decent advisor, they'll tell him to play against Liverpool to get the Newcastle fans back on side as he's stuck here for at least one more season. It's a get out of jail card.

Monday is going to be an absolute firepit. Hopefully we dont get pumped.
