He’s absolutely blown his own feet off (as has his dipshit agent) And the scousers’ reward for all of this will be to watch him sailing off to sunnier climes next season - there’s zero chance he goes to Liverpool now. He’s professed in the past his desire to play for a big Spanish club - Liverpool would’ve been just another stepping stone I think getting him to sign a new deal is part of the plan to reintegrate him back to the squad. I don't see us not selling him to Liverpool and keep him on the same terms. If we keep him, he's gotta sign a new deal. In a perfect world, he stays, fires his agent, gets a new agent, agrees a new contract and bangs in 40 goals in all comps this season. There was no cast iron certainty it would be enough. Based on what I've seen this summer though, Douglas doesn't seem to know anything. This is it. The media latched onto £150m as being our starting figure entering into negotiations and there to be bartered down. Aside from one journalist (Hope) I haven't seen anything from a remotely credible source to suggest that is the case.

Newcastle really hope that. “Internally they have this feeling that they want to convince Isak to be back in training after the game on Monday. Scenes weds in training when Schar clothes lines him during the warm up & Lascelles big day splashes him in the mud Romano is setting himself for a nice sensational headline in the (very possible) event that Isak does not return to training this week. I thought so too. One last headline to get the clicks and likes and get the escousers into a frenzy. "Isak refuses to return to training, only wants Liverpool. For Isak only Liverpool or nothing. He says he only wants Liverpool and won't return till transfer is done. As I said all summer Isak only wants Liverpool, for Isak its only Liverpool. Liverpool have offer ready but waiting on Newcastle. On players side no problem as Isak only wants Liverpool. Lets see how the coming hours and days bring but remember Isak only wants Liverpool." Emotic
Our club statement would put paid to any Romano shenanigans with regard to "waiting for doors to open" I hope. "No sale until conditions are met. We do not foresee those conditions being met." is as unequivocal as it can get. Subtext being that they bid enough (and Liverpool ought to be well clear what is "enough"), and we get more than one striker through the door. None of those will be met, no matter what huff Isak throws.
Matt1892
I see it differently and that he is less likely to be sold if he is still refusing to train, as PIF will see it as him being disrespectful and will refuse to back down. Him coming back to train the week before the window closes is a clear de-escalation on the part of Isak, but I’m not convinced that will mean he is staying until the window closes. Maggies
Tuesday’s seem to be the days where they stir the pot so we’ll probably hear something tomorrow from Isak’s agent. I can’t see Liverpool bidding again until we sign a striker (or two). Unless they come in with something crazy like £170m then they know it will be rejected, so they’re just increasing the price unnecessarily. I think the test will come when we’ve got one striker through the door.

I'd refuse to sell for any price because of that. At least unless Liverpool paid our asking price PLUS the loyalty fee, so they were effectively paying it. AyeDubbleYoo
Would be very unwise for him to escalate things towards the end of the window, he should really have an eye on how he's going to get back on everyone's good side. Once it looks like he's not getting the move he should switch to thinking about what he will do next.

I don't think they can do it just to save face, because it would be an open admission that their forwards aren't good enough and they need Isak. The theme of any match where they are found to lack firepower will be "Should they have got Isak?" No point in being cunts, which I guess means unsettling Isak more, if you're not going to actually buy him. It just makes Liverpool look like tyre kickers. If Liverpool come in again, they have to be confident of getting it done. I think the comment from the Saudis will scare them off. If it hasn't it will mean we get paid in full. Either way is win-win.
