The way this has been handled by the owners has been nothing less than completely shambolic. When Isak announced his "exploring options " statement weeks ago the club should have shut it down instantly with a statement of their own saying he wouldn't be sold this summer for any price.

I didn't see any of that in Al-Rumayan's face, if he looked a bit miffed it was probably because of their last minute winner. He didn't even go to speak with Isak, that was Rueben and Solis.

This is hindsight though, before the season started everyone thought they were going to walk the league after spending £300m on players, with plenty in hand to spend more. That's when Isak started agitating for a move, all he'll have seen is a club which wins stuff every season and would be one of the favourites to win the CL. For all our progress we are not that level yet, and due to PSR shackles, unlikely to be in the next few years.

The dippers are never paying anywhere near £150m for him now that Ekitike is looking the business for them. The Isak purchase would be a completely opportunistic one for them and if it doesnt happen they can walk away and shrug, knowing they have significantly destablised a rival for possibly a season.
