Even in the unlikely even Isak does fail, Liverpool have still spent an obscene amount of money for a very strong squad, and will likely benefit once again from a big Saudi cash injection for one of their players.

I think in this particular instance, whilst a lot of people want to see Liverpool fail, due, mainly, to how things went this summer, it’s not really about that. It’s personal towards Isak.

If you gave many the option of Liverpool winning the league, but Isak barely contributing, and being considered a flop, that would probably be accepted as a palatable outcome.

RAWK collectively relived he's injured, not just pants.

Though they seem to be underestimating the Eddie Howe effect.

They are right to be relieved. It means they can give a clear run to Ekitke who is performing much better anyway.

Probably right. But personally to really hammer home the grass isn’t always greener argument and deflate any sense of his own specialness and diminishing just what the team (coaches, tactics and team mates) did for him I think the perfect revenge is they win nothing, we do, and ideally finish above the feckers. I’ll keep clinging to that whilst it is possible. Oh! And a victory at Anfield wouldn’t come a miss as well.

Of course, from a vindictiveness point of view, we want the whole lot.

But if given the choice between team success and personal failure, or team failure and personal success, I reckon the majority would go for option one.

Not that it’s ever likely to be that clear cut.

Which would you choose:

A) Liverpool winning league and having all round excellent season but Isak fails miserably not scoring a PL goal, considered one of the worst transfers in history.

B) Liverpool don’t win a trophy and miss out on CL qualification, resulting in Slot’s sacking, but Isak bangs in 25+ and wins Golden Boot.

Horrendous decision... But would have to go A.

A

Isak is far more offensive to Newcastle United than Liverpool FC ever will be

Very easy choice.  Option A

It also has the added benefit of not seeing that cunt Arteta win the league
