From a Liverpool forum theorizing about potential candidates if Slot has to go:

Glasner - "not Liverpool calibre"

Emery - "wouldn't leave Villa" (not so sure about that -- wouldn't hate it as feel like it could end in tears on both sides)

Alonso - "maybe he'll be sick of Madrid" [emoji38]

Enrique - "has to be the first call to see if he's tired of winning everything in Paris" [emoji38][emoji38]

Bruce - "he'll get the team to roll their sleeves up and dust themselves down. He's thin skinned and plays the victim so he fits in well with the fans"

Why wouldn’t he be interested?

Well they have one striker who would have turned down his previous club, us, and by extension him, multiple times.

Their other striker he knows is a disloyal, dummy spitting, refusing to train, throwing his toys out the pram the second he feels disrespected, rat.

Other than that... 🤣

Tbf, he's just a footballer to us, but he was no doubt a very good friend of a few of them and those reminders could be hard to deal with. When you're talking 1-2% difference makes or breaks a player, then something like that, if it is, could easily cast a shadow. I mean 15 years later, I still struggle mid March every single year remembering the death of a friend. I'd hate to be reminded of it say 9am every morning at work. Would kill me.

I'll not take away how much they are grief junkies, but maybe not moving on and trying to milk the grief is backfiring, whereas I'm sure they thought they'd be inspired to perform for him. Just a thought.

My impression of Jota was that he was going to be sold based on age profile, rumours, and how they do transfers. He only played about 1000 minutes in the league last year.

I'm loving what's happening to them, especially after eScousers claimed they'd had "the greatest transfer window ever". It couldn't just be good, it had to be better than everyone else ever. By splurging the cash, they have placed themselves in the Chelsea, Man City, Man U category of big spenders. Pundits on tv have always rimmed them and spread them myth that they never spent big money. World record fees for a goalkeeper and a defender were irrelevant. After half a billion in one window, we will not have to hear this tedious myth very much any more.

fwiw, Darwin Nunez got 15 goals and 4 assists in all comps in his first season, where they finished below us. I doubt Isak can hit those numbers now. Even Ekitike might not, given that his game time might be limited by the need to play Wirtz and Isak to justify their fees.

It would hold a bit more water if they hadn’t won their first seven matches tbf

We used to call him (not Slot) the Hair Bear Bunch 😂

Was a Percy legend. Back in the day that bar was like Fraggle Rock.

Loved the Hair Bear Bunch 😊

The Jota thing... had two mates both use that as an excuse. Not the main excuse, but one of them. So typical.

I've had a friend use it as an excuse for Salah's drop in form...

Which I think started at the back end of last season

My first though when learning of Jotas passing was in pretty bad taste I'll admit

"oh fuck, they're going to milk this aren't they"

Like a herd of Jerseys worth of it. Always the victims; it’s never their fault.
