I'm not sure dropping him after he's been rubbish all season is really taking him on.

Although the Dutch are always preety argumentative and forthright in their views. Johan Cruyff could start an argument in an empty room

Van Gaal wasn’t very good with words, so to speak. Even in an interview when doing Litmanen’s documentary, a most important player of his Ajax team, he said something like his injuries were mentality issue or something.

Looking forward to seeing Wirtz and Isak in a graphic like this. Zero in 14 PL games now for Wirtz. Only 36 more to qualify. 2 in 8 for Isak, so a strong start for the 145M euros-to-justify man.

Liverpool are loaded so their spend shouldn't actually matter very much. It matters loads however, because of ex-Liverpool pundits and eScousers ramming some notion of them being the best club with money down everyone's throat. With this summer, they have blown that one out of the water.

Genuine question, does the rat regret his actions and the outcome of those actions?

I think he knows he massively fucked up.

Doubt it. He’ll probably think it’ll come good with a change of manager/system etc Ekitike doing well will concern him tho

If Salah came from the Middle East that would be one thing but he’s African.

The best and most popular Arabic-speaking Muslim player on the planet, ever. Howay man, he'd be a top, top draw for their league.

I'd hope after some of the big money flops (Neymar) that they’d maybe start to see a bit more sense.

Egypt is both in just about every way, including geographically.

It's poor management. Top managers are able to make changes and drop players be they big names or key players and it not be too much of a problem. This statement from Salah is saying there's no relationship with the manager. It reflects badly on all concerned but Slot has been vocally critical of several players (Gomez Alexander Arnold) even at times when they've played well. Slot's getting found out here.

Definitely feeling like Slot squeezed one last trophy out of Klopp’s team and the wheels are finally falling off. Whether with Slot or the next guy they need to move on from the likes of Salah, VVD, Allison, Robertson.

Slot just threw Konate under the bus too.

I think the whole “he got his money, that’s all he’ll care about” argument is nonsense, personally.

He could have got fairly close to what Liverpool are paying him with a new deal here I suspect, and probably double what he gets at Liverpool if he had gone to Saudi.

Pretty sure he will have thought that moving to the defending champions with better players around him that he was going to saunter in there and score 30+ for a few seasons while winning a load of trophies and then Madrid or Barca would come calling in summer 2028.

It could still turn around for him, he’s clearly a talented player who’s capable of a lot better than he’s showing at the moment but the line between success and failure at the top is pretty thin sometimes. He had some patches of pretty shitty form for us too but turning it around at a club where you're adored in a team built to play to your strengths is one thing, doing it where people are openly mocking your signing and the team looks far better with your supposed understudy is another.

Hope it turns increasingly sour and his struggles in his professional life seep into his personal life, needless to say.

100% agree

If he just wanted the money he could have gone to Saudi, or just angled for a move somewhere else. To specifically target the team that had just won the PL and was investing heavily says he wanted to be a key part of a team that wins multiple trophies.

What is it with Dutch managers wanting to take on the club's best and highest profile player? Obviously Gullit here , Ten Hag with Rashford, Sancho and Ronaldo, Koeman with Barkley (when Barkley was considered one of the best young players in the country) at Everton, Van Gaal with Rivaldo at Barca and then Van Persie at International level.

Arrogance or confidence, fine line that like.

yeah, the £ argument is majorly flawed IMO. That said, if wed have given him the deal he wanted last in the summer of 2024, he'd still be here, so it did play a part.

I can't see it panning out for him there now, has a player with a hefty price tag ever turned it around and hit the heights expected after such a poor start? I can't think of one.

Real win win last night. Two goals for Ekitike to push him ahead of the rat in the pecking order and two more dropped points, happy days!

Comment I read on YouTube "if Leeds want to have any chance of surviving relegation then they need to be winning these six pointers against fellow bottom teams" 😂😂
