Shameful way of behaving and it will stain his character for the rest of his career. He have, but this entire situation is also troublesome for us if he ends up staying. Those misses or poor performances but that will eventually come even if he tries his best will cause those noises. Which can spread negativity not only in his own mind but in the squad as well. Displayname
Regarding the point that if we sell him now it will send a message to other players that we will just roll over if they want to leave. Are we sure thats the case? Doubt our other players envy the position Isak has put himself in now..

I have a great deal of confidence that Howe will deal with it skillfully. But to jettison him when we have all the cards, and there is only one suitor that has acted utterly cuntish toward us, is just unbelievably cowardice and self destructive. et tu brute
If he is going, it HAS be at our valuation of £150 million plus. If not it will make us look unbelievably weak and let's be honest justification that Liverpool and Isak have pulled our pants down and fucked us royally. At this point I'm fine with him going but I agree 100%. Pony up the cash or get the fuck out Liverpool.

I'm now pretty adamant that any deal with Liverpool is bad at this point. If there is any truth to the saga, their behavior has been utterly abysmal. I'd rather that we try to fuck them over as much as possible. Edited August 3, 2025 by Vinny Green Balls
nufcjmc
We need to hurry up with these replacements so we don't upset poor alex and our liverpool overlords who are desperate to bid again and tell the world how the UK record of 120m should be more than enough to get him. 🤣

He’ll be allowed nowhere near the first team unless Howe thinks he’ll contribute.

I've thought for a little while that perhaps Eddie is much more willing to let Isak leave than Yasir is. I don't know why exactly. Some of his comments are very 'hands off', almost distancing himself from the whole thing. For someone who is clearly a massive control freak (not a bad thing) saying things like "someone back in the UK is dealing with it" and using the time difference as a reason seems odd. It wouldn't surprise me if his feeling was that if Isak doesn't want to be here (and seems like he doesn't), fuck him off and I'll work with whoever we replace him with. Think it’s more likely to be what someone else said. It gives Eddie a chance to put his arm around him and say it wasn’t his call but let’s go to work and we’ll get you the move next summer. AyeDubbleYoo
I think Howe is just using the distance thing so he doesn't have to answer the questions in any detail. He does that kind of deflection all the time.

I don't think its necessarily about certain players, its more about the image as the club as a whole. The world is watching, and I think we can really set down a marker with, current players, future players and clubs around the world. We should have a rep that we are very difficult to deal with. Otherwise everyone will think if they unsettle our player, that we'll eventually buckle. Set the precedent now. Even if it means he hangs around for another season. Which im not even convinced isn't the best scenario anyway for the club short and long term

Mattoon
I do hope, that even if we get Wissa and Sesko in that we do keep Isak anyway and rotate him, make him fight for his place in this WC year and earn a big money move to a club of our choice, done properly and with actual respect, not scouse faux respect. This is about our reputation as a club, and whether or not others can think they can get away with treating us like mugs. I'd rather our prized asset rot in the reserves for a half season than to give a town full of Listers what they want.

You completely missunderstood what I was trying to say. I meant more that if he tries, want to do this best, but having a bad spell which happens to all players and fans start to boo and criticize him it might turn very toxic. Especially if the squad knows he tries his best.

McDog
I will say, I like the fact that Eddie wasn't bending over backwards with the "please come back, we need you". He said you have to earn it which is great in my book.
Moose
I get the feeling that Isak and his agent think they're above the club, Eddie has just power slammed them right back down to earth with a thud. BTW, when was the last time Romano tweeted about Isak saga? It feels like it's been ages. Can someone check to make sure he's OK? And if he is OK can you make it so that he isn't OK with extreme violence?
