Liverpool winning the league and adding Ekitike, Wirtz, Frimpong, Mamardashvili, Kerkez, Frimpong and potentially Isak to their side.

Chelsea getting a £100m for a glorified friendly competition and buying anyone with a pulse. Villa selling their womans team to themselves.

Journalists publicly tapping up players for the cartel clubs.

Whole thing just feels proper demoralising [emoji38]

I've got other words for it.

Many, myself included, alluded to next season and it being wins all round.

I think the fans unanimously would have wished him well but his timing to demand it now is totally selfish. Eddie made him what he is today- that's just a fact.

No problems with him leaving next season. Would have had no problems with him leaving if we didn't qualify for Champs League. But after winning the Cup and getting champions league, I fully expected him to stay this season.

There's no real reason for him to leave except greed.

The frustrating thing about this is how close it is to the season starting.  It really messes us up.  We needed a striker to replace Wilson and now need 2 - and one of those needs to be pretty decent.  The price for any player (whatever position) will now go up.

Unbearable to think that come the first home game of the season, Isak could be playing for the opposition.  Mind you he probably won’t be fit to play at that stage.

Its our own fault just like the PSR mess last year. Amanda promised Issak an improved contract....nothing...Mitchell promised the same....nothing....Isaak seeks his fortune elsewhere...

Predictable.

Nobody seems to work behind the scenes any more we drift from one crisis to another.

Nobody on contracts noones fighting ffp rules left it to City

Noone on transfers....Saudis are lazy people who had a no graft ethic as the oil bubbled up by itself. Why did Anderson and Minteh have to leave because noone saw it coming or was arsed till the last second.

Seems like we have offered him quite a big pay rise. Maybe last season would've been better, but still.

There are issues outside of football, the break in etc have had effects no doubt i believe and would want warrant a fresh start, its not always just because a player wants to exercise their rights to move on. Its his job, but i still think he goes next summer FWIW

We don’t look a serious outfit. Lots of reason to leave.

We’ve also probably given his young boy similar money to him. That’s disrespectful.

Who's his young boy? I didn't know he had kids.

Merseyside is the place to go to live safe and sound.

I’m sure he’ll be just fine for break ins when he rocks up in Cheshire.

He'll be on the bench at most. If he starts there'll be a riot in the East Stand. Liverpool aren't daft.

There's been talk about informal talks since January, might it have been his side that stalled them?

This is honestly what I mean.

Writing was on the wall as soon as the "Newcastle rules" were brought in in a panic.

I actually have no problem selling Isak, if I knew we had a team of top recruiters ready to use the money properly.

But we don't, because we were left to rot for 15 years under Mike Ashley and no one cared - all while the cartel clubs stitched the league up so it couldn't be competitive anymore.

Could £130m (or whatever it turns out to be) be transformative? Sure. Every club that has risen up the league has sold talismen at some point when the price was right. I just don't trust us to handle it properly on the evidence of the last year or two.

The entire thing is rotten to the core.
