It's unbelievable really.

Guy is likely about to break the British record for a transfer and set the club up to take the next step forward.

It just is what it is. It's not ideal, but just part of the process as things are currently setup.

He's just hit a level that the club can't pay the going rate for yet.

Having said that. Please not Liverpool. God forbid!

The issue isn't about leaving, it's the fact this whole thing seems so cocked up at this point. Delap, JP, Ekitke all went elsewhere - we either decided the fee or wages don't work for us and then weeks on later our main man who is better than all 3 also wants out. It's just shit feeling. And based on the transfer success of the 3 strikers mentioned earlier, how the fuck do we get ourselves in a position to kick on and attack this season?

I really thought as season ended we'd have a good summer. Sounded like we were really going to get stadium news. Sounded like we were going to get a CEO announced too. None happened. Mitchell then announces he's leaving. OK fine. Then week over week we are losing out on transfers and the only one time we heard from the club was when Eddie returned and his first or second thing he said was a lot of work being done behind the scenes for not much.

Finally, deep down, I don't want fucking 200m. I want Isak here and I want to keep building upon last season.

Do people actually believe giving him a contract a year ago would have changed this?

I do.

We sat down. Handshakes and signature 12/10 months ago and now you want to leave? That rarely happens. I can’t think of an example where that happens and a player kicks up a fuss (without having an agreement the signed player would leave the next year ala Suarez, Ronaldo etc)

The fact that the last time terms were agreed was 3 years ago - does matter.

No idea who he is and they all lie, but guy currently on sky sports has just said we have been trying to get him to talk about a new contract for ‘months’ but it’s isaks side who haven’t come to the table.

That's what we'll put out to the media to save face.

What if you didn't find her, but Ornstein tweeted suggesting she might be looking at other men?

I'd ask her but the used condom on the floor (re Isak not going on the tour) might give it away.

Hope this doesn't drag on all summer, if he wants out sell him, hopefully to Saudi and not the scousers.

We already need a few players, will need two strikers after this, with how long it takes us to do a deal, god knows who we end up with at end of window.

This all playing out whilst we're in the air and will be to the early hours of the morning is further annoying too.

I'll take a bang out of no where Newcastle update tomorrow that Isak has agreed a new deal over getting out of the UCL keague phase :D

If Isak wants out he will get out.. Player desire and wants are too powerful nowadays.

If Liverpool want him I'd ask for Elliot, Nunez plus another of Eddie's project player or two plus £100m..

Go all football manager on them

Please tell me what you see in Nunez?

Not a chance it changes anything.

Second Liverpool was mentioned man started twerking like Chris brown had walked past. To me it's clear he's desparate to go

Man has literally made the club look like absolute mugs. Less than an hour after he's injured he wants to leave?

Wait until we get the “only wanted Liverpool” when he leaves

Thankfully, they jumped the shark with it's use on Xhaka so its blatantly obvious it means nothing

Judging by how quickly folk have turned on him, don't know why there is an expectation of player loyalty.

It's not about loyalty though, it's about honesty. He knows we'll be struggling to replace him at such short notice. I doubt he just decided last night that he's had enough. Why did he wait so long to come out with this. It's absolutely a low blow when we've done nothing but applaud and celebrate the lad. Oh and pay him a fkn fortune in the bargain.

Looks like it. Perhaps Isak made it clear early in the summer he wanted to leave, and they told him to keep it quiet so they could get a replacement first. We've failed to do that and now he's going public. All assumptions, who really knows

I did think the Etikite transfer didn’t make much sense. But I dreamed.

But if that’s the case wouldn’t we have told Liverpool to get Isak and leave us Hugo?

Who knows what happened with his contract, it's all just conjecture.

I absolutely don't buy that this is all on Mitchell though.

The mood music changed the second Liverpool's interest was put out.

This is my take too. Next summer would work so much better for all parties unless he just wants a new deal

If he wanted a new deal this isn't the way to do it. It's clearly not about money. He wants out.

Liverpool interest wouldn’t have been out the blue. None of this is out the blue.

Yeah, if Isak was desperate to go to Liverpool we could have just got Ekitike. Liverpool have surely made it harder for themselves to get Isak now.
