After all that has happened? All that has happened is that his agent has said he wants to explore options as part of a bid to get his player paid more and Eddie made a decision to leave him at home.

If you can’t handle that emotionally, you probably need help.

I feel as though I want him to leave now and we can rebuild with players 100% commited

Can’t be arsed with players pulling out of games (v Arsenal away - Crucial game last season ) and then  training last week , it’s a slippery slope thereafter

Never thought I would say that !!, but he can go and do the same elesewhere

Hope he takes his last 10 games form into a new club and gets injured (not seriously ) and fades into nothingness (😖)

The same people that were mocking Newcastle when they "overpaid" for him in the first place! And yet here we are a few years later and if he goes it will be a British record transfer. Clown world.

And I know everyone thinks the club is a catastrophe at the moment and will never sign another player again, but these gloaters should be more concerned about what the club will be able to do with the money that comes in.

Every player that comes in keeps performing at a high level and pushing the club forward. I am far from convinced this is going to be the big setback people are expecting IF it even happens.

I don’t think anyone is doubting the quality of player we will or will try to sign. The question is are we capable of getting the deal done. The evidence suggests not.

Sorry I worded that poorly, I meant after all that has happened do you want him to stay

Yeh. This is business and his career. I don’t take these things personally.

Harry Kane refused to play for Spurs.  Gerrard forced a move to Chelsea. Figo left Barca for Real.  This is football.

Isak is currently - at worst - the 5th best striker in the world. We are the 5th best team in England (and truthfully on a downwards trajectory big picture). Why wouldn’t he want to leave?

It’s almost August. He has 3 years left on his contract.  We should be able to come to some type of agreement that he stays for another year on better pay.

We’ve also been incompetent in the market for 12 months. Let’s get a structure in that can actually spend the money wisely.

No one knows exactly what has been said and what hasn’t we can only go from the little bits we here (journalists) or the people we know inside the club

FSG aren’t in the business of going to PSR limits.

They dont have to balance the books for 2 years though.

You think Isak has kicked off like this without an exit and planned out? The remaining job is to make us bend over.

For all its 3yrs rolling, the books (For PSR) have to be balanced each year.

FSG are in the business of making actual money.  Actual profits.  Not PSR profits but actual profits.

They are not in the business of ‘balancing books’ 2 years down the line.  They are not Chelsea. Us. Villa.

Exactly, what I said are the only two objectively known things. Everything else is reacting emotionally to social media bollocks.

I do think Isak has timed this all wrong, it should’ve either been after last season ended or at the end of next season. As it is only one club appears interested and it’s unclear whether they’ll stump up the fee. He must have a deal in mind for if he stays, maybe a new contract with a 120m release clause to foreign clubs next summer?

I don’t know whether the exit plan has been mapped out. I do know - it would’ve been better to do this in June when several clubs were in play. So I’m not certain team Isak have their ducks in a row.

But he does have 3 years left on his contract. He only has so much power. More powerful players in better positions have been made to wait - Mbappe, Kane, Ronaldo

This isn't true. We had massive loss in the first two years of the takeover.

Yes and both those years were added to the previous two years respectively to give the three year position.

I think I’ll go however Howe has the ability to potentially pull it round so that he stays one year and gives us more time to plan for his departure, new contract with release clause, gentleman’s agreement, call it what you will. The issue however is the not going on tour hasn’t done him any favours in the eyes of many.

Football fans are fickle.  We’ll get over it.

So you reckon he decide to jump the shark on a whim with absolutely zero plan? It sounds implausible to me.

I believe they he and Liverpool knew we either wouldn't sell this summer or the cost would be beyond them so in order to make of happen he'd have to agitate to get us to the table. I think this is where we currently are.

Liverpool are quite relaxed because they know many mugs exist who will happily take the mid they have for Canny fees.

As a pure hypothetical, what strike force would people say is better:

A) Isak, Wilson, Osula

B) Sesko, Wissa, Osula

I'm struggling to pick it to be honest.
