Great thanks, I haven’t been that convinced by Eales even before he very sadly became ill

Me neither. Something a bit slippery about him. Reminded me of Llambias or whatever he was called.

The sort of person to wear a shirt and try and be one of the fans and then behind closed doors advocate for massive ticket price increases and a move towards getting more day trippers in who’ll spend money in the new megastore.

I don’t agree regarding Llambias, just comes across a bit powder puff for me. A bit of a nothing character.

Problem is if he does go it’s not going to happen quickly which fucks us in terms of getting players in. If he was to go and we got: Sesko, Wissa, a new top CB, new solid midfielder, maybe an attacking midfielder etc then I’d at least feel better about things going into the season. Can’t see us getting all those that’s the issue.

Eddie has successfully shifted the blame if he is sold. Essentially saying he wants him to stay but it's out of his hands and the the owners will make the decision.

Not that he needed to, that much should be obvious to everyone.

Just hope we don't get screwed by PIF though if the rumours of the Al Hilal bid is correct. I just cannot imagine that to be the case. Surely they aren't flogging our best player to their other teams where we don't even get the full PSR benefit.

If his scan has come back clear as reported, and there has been no bid for him, then he needs to get himself back to training. His agent can “explore” a move for him, but he’s contracted to the club for another three years. If he ends up staying then we’re going to have an already injury prone player who’s missed pre-season.

I fucking hate that cunt so much (Romano). Red ON. Wouldn’t tire of seeing someone shove shit down his throat

Agreed. The whole culture around transfer gossip has become so toxic and he's a real bellwether for that shift. Obviously the nature of Twitter is the root cause but that bloke is just rancid

Still don't understand why some people think we should bend to his will and sell him to Liverpool.

Message should be that if an acceptable offer comes in from abroad then we'll talk, otherwise buckle down as you have 3 years left.

We aren't powerless here and PIF will look weak if him moving to Liverpool transpires.

We could all be reading the situation wrong.  By 'explore a move away' he may just want to talk to other clubs, which could include talking to Barca about a move next year for all we know.

My compromise would be to let him talk to clubs abroad and a Premier League move isn't happening.

This forum is a microcosm for the toxic cess pit of transfer “links” that are being driven by the monetisation of Twatter clicks and cash for content

Punters work themselves into a frenzy of excitement / doom, all based on some cunt spreading shite for £’s

It’s all rancid

And it goes way beyond football into most aspects of our lives. If Twatter burnt to the ground the world would be a better place

Really couldn't give a flying fuck about veiled 'compliments' from other club's fans, but maybe that's just me.

I mean its nice to know your doing something right but I agree what we need instead is something positive to shut them up. A big signing, isak new deal etc etc whatever it is currently isn't forthcoming.

It's a fair point though. Seen plenty on here refer to us as a laughing stock.

Romano is such a fuckin drip

From the get go him and Ornstein have said similar and at basically the same time.

I know our local journos know fuck all. But the likes of Hope to get the odd scrap. Nothing from anyone else before those two transfer bores first broke the story.

Seems fairly obvious it is the Liverpool end and/or Isak and his camp trying to drive the price down through media pressure. Well, that and Isak deciding he doesn’t want to play for us at the minute or at all.

True like. If this was Brighton no one would care

Not for me. I always think back to the eras where I enjoyed football the most and it's always when "lesser teams" have great, iconic players in their squad that raise the level of those around them.

I hate this hoarding of players and having super squads that the big teams do. It's why I'd be partly ok with some kind of salary cap or whatever so that the best players get shared around the league and it makes the whole thing way more competitive.

Why’s he not on the tour then? And don’t say injury

I’d take it in better spirit if we hadn’t had every Avenue of trying to challenge others ripped from our grasp

Not strictly true. While the main avenues have been blocked there are still open ones that we arent exploiting to the full.
