I really want PIF to say no - just couldn't stomach him signing for them.

“PIF” in this instance is Jacobo Solis. Solis is an ex-investment banker. He probably sees this as a good deal. If we think Yasser is going to come in and save the day, we’re dreaming. The only decisions he’s making lately have been pitching wedge or 9 iron.

I’ve got past the denial and anger stage now I’ve just accepted this given how the chips have fallen.

If we can get anywhere near our valuation for him we’ll have done alright.

If it’s gonna happen hopefully it does quickly so we can get reinforcements in assuming this lot know how to do that.

I still think he’s a dick given the way he’s gone about it and it’s such a shame given he was integral to bringing a trophy here.

I dont think it would be the worst idea if we could get north of £100m plus a player out of it too.

Tried to shy away from using such a cringy word, but we have some extreme cuck energy coming out of the club at the moment

Yep.

Levy wouldn’t be letting Isak go with no CL football.

Kane went on strike. Kane had a verbal agreement.  2 years left on the contract. Levy didn’t budge an inch.

He got €100m for a 29 yo with 1 year left on his contract.

What do you mean by no champs league football?

The media offensive has been a joke regarding Isak. Talk about tapping up en masse. It almost sounds like we have no say in the asking price for Isak and that Liverpool are entitled to buy him for £120m because they're Liverpool

We should stand strong. At least £150m up front or fuck off. I just wish Real Madrid or Bayern Munich were in the market for a striker ( a bidding war would help bump his price up) + I feel queasy at the idea of Isak fist pumping at the Kop end

Left refused to sell Kane to City with 2 years left on his contract.  Spurs didn’t have CL football and Kane had a verbal agreement he could leave if spurs received a fair offer if they had not qualified for the CL. Levy didn’t budge.

We have more chips than Levy did but seem prepared to bend over.

So we should have a owner who is a complete dickhead ?

Media is all about engagement, the amount of clicks, views etc will be off the scale at the moment.

Best just to ignore it all.

let’s just sit out the pre season tour  ok let’s not call it a strop, let’s call it unprofessional and disrespectful to not only the fans over there but to the club and his teammates

For sure, if its indeed the case that he faked and injury to miss the tour, or refused to go, complete dickhead move. My point was just that its probably not as emotional and dramatic as a lot of people are seeing it as. Another one is the idea that all of the players are fuming at Alex, and will give him the cold shoulder if he returns. bet money the first video we see with him in it is all smiles doing those daft signature handshakes they all have with each other

Its a business for them, and they understand it. Alot of times fans just assume they are as emotional about this as we are. I think its rarely the case. just my opinion obviously

The thing is, if this is going to be purely emotionless decision then it might very well be the opposite of what most people on here wants (rejecting Liverpools bid and demanding  150 mil plus). It might turn out to be that the club feel that a bid for 120-130 is good enough and dont want to risk having to sell for less next summer. Im not sure but it could be the outcome of a non emotional decision

Another Liverpool fan, is it?

I do understand those who feel this has an air of inevitability to it, with the social media onslaught strategy delivered by Romano and others + our conditioning over the years as NUFC fans.

However, we are still in a position of relative strength with Isak having 3 years to run on his contact. The only valid reason to let him go at all is if we genuinely think it is in the best interests of the club.

150 base and 10 million for every title you win during his contract.

If not, fuck off and we'll talk next summer at 130 plus 10 million.

120m is a joke considering every tom, dick and harry are going for 50-80m

All seems very inevitable this now, there may be a first bid rejected but it won’t be a not for sale. There’ll be some negotiation and the deal will be £130 million ish plus add ons. We’re losing an absolute superstar and I’ve got no confidence whatsoever in our ability to sign what we need. Feels very grim at the minute

We've signed what we need whenever we needed it since we've been taken over when we could based on PSR

I think the point is in an even weaker position, Tottenham held out and it didnt backfire on them. There's no reason we should feel pressure to sell the player for a negotiated fee because he asks to leave, and the entire media thinks we should let him

I'm not sure I agree with the second part. I think it's more that we're a rudderless ship.

It's absolutely essentially we establish a reputation for being difficult sellers though, if we sell it has to be on our terms and we have to be awkward about it.

For what it’s worth, there’s absolutely nothing to indicate that we’re going to “bend over and take it” other than the assumption that everything that could possibly go wrong this summer will go wrong.

If he’s sold, I’d expect it to be for a humongous fee.

Yes.

This is elite business. Everybody involved is an apex capitalist.  The best interests of NUFC come first.

This has been my frustration all year in this thread. I don’t thikk no people understand what it’s going to take to become a force in European football.  It’s going to take apex capitalism. hard negotiations. Pressing any leverage we can.

You’re right and I hope we do but the way the club is at the minute feels like we are at a complete stand still doesn’t fill me with hope.
