Alexander Isak

I can’t see us selling for anything less than double what we bought him for, IF we have to. Today I’m optimistic that we could add one or two in January and we could be cooking for a 4th place finish…no Europe, momentum, players coming back. Still in the early days, but you never know. So maybe we can retain him.

My Man City mate messaged me this morning saying he hopes City "just sell Haaland for £200m and use £60m of it to get Isak"

I dont think anyone knows we paid 60m for him . See a lot of twitter trolls saying 50-60m will get the deal done.

Yeah, one of my mates supports Arsenal and was talking about £80 million.

And I had to remind him of when they were all scoffing at the fact we paid £60 million.

And so now, with how well he's done, anyone interested has to give us a significant profit. We're not selling him for a £20 million profit.

The delusion out here is something else.

Delusion or entitlement? 😄

Premier League proven elite striker, with 3 years on contract. Definitely not less than £100m, probably more like a record fee. Goal scorers demand a totally different fee, and he has more to his game than just goals.

Fuck all that though love him to much, and just want to see that official x post confirming he's signed a 3 year extension at some point soon, but maybe he's waiting to see how the season unfolds which would be fair for a player of this level.

 BBC trying to get a commission on a sale.

I don't get how this kind of speculation is still a thing, it's an absolute joke. Happens anytime someone desirable outside the cartel hits some good form. Unique to football too, never see this shit in other sports. You can praise the player without telling the world where he should go next or be a perfect fit for some other team. Never see them drooling over big 6 players moving to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern either.

If someone bids for him, and if he is interested in joining them over staying here, I think we'd let him go for something around the £80m region.

If someone bids for him, and he's not particularly bothered whether he stays or goes, we're immediately in the £100m+ region.

There's just no way we'll run the risk of losing him for nothing if that ever becomes a realistic scenario.

If Arsenal (or anyone else!) want him then they have to pay what we deem a fair price.

He's our player after all.

Merson needs to shut up. Just in general.

Get him tied down to a new deal and yes make him the top earner at the club.

We can command whatever fee we want IF we decided to sell him.

on my rewatch yesterday I noticed he played really well. He clearly loves having Willock in the team as it leaves him less isolated and it means he has someone to help him press high. Willock also plays so high up the pitch that it enables Isak to try to drop deeper and link play more… not everything came off for him but he was much more involved than usual.

I feel like I owe Willock an apology. When he’s playing well, the way he plays is seemingly very important for us at the moment.

I think he's great but doubt he'll ever be as extraordinary as Henry was

I would hate selling him, particularly as such a player is almost impossible to replace

only injuries can hold him back really

if clubs start offering over £100m and we're not in the CL then I accept it'll be very difficult to keep him

hopefully if that happens the club will have a good transfer strategy and use the money as effectively as Liverpool did with Coutinho or Spurs with Bale

He’s got. 3 years left on his contract. If he wants to go - we need a proper fee (unless we get in a PSR mess again).  Anything less than £100m next summer - we’ve been robbed.  And £100m isn’t even a great fee.  £130m+ then we’ve done well.

It changes once we get to 2 years or less. But not now.

I'm glad he's starting to score some 'easy' goals now.  Felt like every other goal of his last season was a goal of the month contender but that was never going to be sustainable.

Needs 10+ from near the 6 yard box & pens and is comfortably on his was to doing so.

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if this chat is somewhat agent driven. Not necessarily Isak himself, mind. Just need to stand our ground as supporters, whatever happens we should get a positive result.

I think somewhere in the 90's would be a reasonable fee for him - if we can get more then great.

But who would replace him? Got to be someone who will fit in with our team and tactics.

Not that I want him to go - hes an amazing player. And he'll score even more with proper service from the right wing position.

There's your real issue, and why teams like Arsenal and Chelsea might be very interested in signing him. Strikers who score goals every season are very rare, and they don't come cheap.

That's why something in the 90s is unacceptable... Replacements don't grow on trees and we need enough to buy at least one plus another good player for another position to make letting him go worth our while.

Otherwise, why sell? A pile of money won't score the goals that actually make us money.
