I love Isak and he’s the last of the purples I’d sell, but there is no doubt a 100m-ish windfall could be very valuable in making us stronger overall. Same applies for potentially losing our other top players. Whilst the FFP rules stay as they are efficient wheeling and dealing will be needed to eventually bridge the gap.

You’d need to spend big money to replace Isak though for someone who’s guaranteed to score you as many goals as he does.

I agree with you but it depends on how long Isak is prepared to stay here. If we don't qualify for Europe then I don't think we'd be matching his ambition even though he obviously loves playing for us. He's a world class player and shouldn't be playing in a team that's hamstrung under Premier League rules. Fuck them all

I’d rather sell any other  player than Isak - he’s sensational and strikers like him are worth their weight in gold!

Agree about the shitty PSR rules - total joke for the likes of us and Villa

Worth noting that he signed on 6 year contract in 2022 for £63m.

So still got three years of amortisation to go, so if he were to be sold in the summer you could knock £30m off any fee that would be ‘reinvestable’.

Not sure if we’d get it, but price would need to be well in excess of £100m to make a significant difference to boosting the team long term.

We nearly paid £60m+ for a decent centre half in the summer, for example. By the time you factor in a replacement striker, £100m is not leaving much over.

The thing with selling Isak is, his price would be around 100 million, most likely over that. What clubs at the moment can afford that and need a striker?

Real? No

Man City? No

Man United? Can't afford

Arsenal? Doubt they can

Liverpool? Most likely no need or cannot afford

Bayern? No need

Chelsea? Don't think they can afford or need Isak

Barca and PSG are the only one I am a bit worried about.

It's them turning his head is my worry - as those teams you've listed above he'll win titles.  Eddie has also made it clear that as a club we are going to have to sell to then re-invest. So it's just a matter of time before one of our Purples is sold.  And let's be honest these guys are going to be wanting to play CL football and if we can't offer that then I can see them wanting to go.

Yea he is a player that should be playing in a UCL team. I just mean that not many teams are able to buy him.

One of the upsides of PSR.

Even the so called bigger clubs are more hesitant on big transfers.

Good. Serves them right.

Wouldn't be worried about Barca either. They don't have the appeal they used to and by most reports they're totally broke. Not that that's ever stopped them

I could definitely see Chelsea chucking silly money at us for him.

..or Arsenal - especially if they miss out on the title again

The miss was terrible, but his close control was a level above everyone else. He's one of the few who looked switched on today, too many others were losing the ball or miscontrolling under a bit of pressure.

Fearing we will be forced to sell in the summer as he's not going to want to piss about in mid table. He's too good.

Maybe he should get his act together and start taking his chances

He does. Unless you mean he should start scoring every chance he gets?

I was really critical of him earlier in the season, but he's scoring now. Having to score 3+ goals to win a game every week isn't sustainable, you could argue he's doing his job more than the defence are.

January I reckon

Sell him in january,on our form and we are staring the bottom half of the table in the face and saying "take me,  I'm yours"

He simply won't he here after the summer and deserves to be playing CL for a competing team. That's not likely to happen here for a while, it's a needless career gamble. We need a minium 120m for him though and l

Preferably from a club abroad.

Chelsea and quite possibly Manure will sniff. Liverpool too imo. Arsenal can't afford him but maybe.he would be the missing link there.

If he wants European/champions league football, then Man Utd won’t have a sniff either.
