Sign for 4 top players and give us a title push. He’ll stay and become a Shearer like legend. Flog £80m Joelinton to Saudi and sign new sponsors in June. Sorted.

There's no point flogging Joelinton to Saudi, we cant declare the profit due to APT rules.

I enjoy watching Isak play and want him to stay.

However, I think he may be a psr busting player who could break the glass ceiling for us.

If Liverpool signed him for around £130M. It really changes the optics. We're a club who sell our players for a lot of money. Longstaff to Saudi for £25M, Joelinton to Saudi next summer for £65M.

We'd have £200M+ to spend this summer. I don't want it to happen, but it'd put us in a strong position.

Finding a 20 goal striker (every season) isn't easy, you know? We have Isak. In the EPL, there's Haaland, Salah, and Isak – replacing him will be tough.

Keep seeing the Isak thread top of the forum list thinking something has happened.

Ben Jacobs (lol) and some liverpool fan (lol) account are the only 2 i can see talking about him leaving.

It'd be really hard, but I trust our recruitment team. I don't think we could replace him with one player, I think we'd need two attacking players to replace his goals.

Our better players have done well enough that the top clubs across the continent will be interested.

If we do decide to move any for more financial wiggle room, the one rule should be to not sell to any of the top Premier League clubs, even if it means we have to get a little less money.

That is the only thing I think we need to be very strong on.

They banded together to make things difficult for the club to progress, and so let's return the favour and keep that going.

Our recruitment team and coaching staff would make it work by reinvesting the money and improving the team in multiple areas, I agree.

I dont think we would necessarily need a 20-goal striker. One 15-goal striker, an extra 5 from RW and 5 from midfield and we've covered the goal contributions.

When we sell Isak, hopefully for a lot of money, we will invest that in two or three players. We'll struggle to replace him but we will have an opportunity to make the squad stronger.

That's the thing, right? You wanna swap one player for two. So, let's say we get £150m for Isak from Liverpool, and use that to buy two players. That's most of the money from Isak's sale gone just to replace him. Decent players cost over £60m each, plus, say, £120k a week in wages. That eats up most of the extra cash from the sale.

I don't see any upside to selling Isak to Liverpool or any epl team, if we want to be a top-four team. None whatsoever. You are handing them a guaranteed 20 goal a season striker on top of the talent they have. Nah there is no upside here.

I hope thats not this summer, and not to an EPL team.

I don't think I ever saw an angle of that photo, or footage, from in front of Isak. I was sure it'd go down as one of the most iconic in the club's history.

Reckon if Isak goes to Liverpool with even the slightest PSR reason I might well be done with football. The whole thing is a farce

Who exactly is reporting it?

I’m not saying it’s happening, just saying if it were to happen it’d be final straw for me tbh

You survived the Ashley era and selling, albeit a top class player, for an astronomical amount of money to fund potentially a title challenging team would be the last straw?

It's not the selling of a player, it's the fact that PSR forces it. It's just shit man.

I don't think it does force it though. I think the club will accept an offer if the money is right and if Isak wanted to go regardless of PSR. The same with pretty much all clubs.

All hypothetical anyway, would be surprised if it happened.

£500 Million to Saudi side if he does go

Surely there's nothing in the rules to stop us selling him to a Saudi club for that much then loaning him back for 4 years, with them paying his wages?

Not sure this is either a good footballing or financial move. Losing our best player and in the process giving £500m to them for taking him doesn’t sit right with me

If PSR wasn't such a ball ache though, we'd be able to give him the £250-300k a week the "elite" clubs can pay as well as put the top class players around him to make him have no interest in a move.

People just say this like he isn't the player we miss the most when he isn't playing.

Bruno plays much better when big Joe is crushing rivals

I think we would have exploited the Saudi loophole by now if we were looking at it as an option

Selling ASM for £20M when Diaby went for 3x the price is some going like [emoji38]
