I remember thinking when Benzema was in his last season that Isak would be a very good replacement. Thankfully Real went a different route.

Real were fixated with Mbappe and Haaland thankfully.

 the state of that article

They’ve been doing it all season. I’d ask them what they’re playing at but I imagine it’s hard to answer me back with their mouths being so full of Arsenal cock and balls.

I'd be upset if it was less than £100m personally. Sociedad also have a 10% sell on.

Declan Rice cost more than that. Enzo and Caicedo almost as much.

We'd be mugs selling for less than £140-150m given contract length.

Everyone knows they were over priced though, but agree he's worth more then all of them.

His lack of strength really shows sometimes, but he easily makes up for it with all the other qualities he has. Building muscle would probably be a net negative imo, as it could hurt the things that makes him so good.

I was interested to see Jao Pedro's performance against City yesterday, he came on and had a real impact. He's got the strength, but his finishing looks way less clinical.

We could have had Pedro but went for Isak instead. I think it's pretty hard to argue that decision all things considered, and I really like Pedro.

He's definitely starting to hit some form now. You can see it in his actions. When he's fit and firing he just looks sharper, more involved.

Hope this is the start of a sustained run of fitness and goals. Really just need Wilson to make himself available for the odd 15-20 min sub appearances to help manage Isak's workload.

A bit of a different topic, but I think Lukaku is a good example of a player that got worse after building lots of muscle. He was actually pretty rapid when he was at Everton, and pace was a part of his game. All that pace disappeared when he became massive. I really think that hurt him overall. Maybe Isak can gain a bit of muscle, but I don't think it takes that much before it impacts his explosiveness. Which is one of his key traits.

Whoever mentioned Willock is gold dust for him is bang on. Such a positive player who looks to get close to Isak and, crucially, run beyond him (at pace). I really liked the sort of 4-4-2 they were in against Arsenal.

It's crazy how he's not crap when hes got someone within 30 yards of him.

My Man City mate messaged me this morning saying he hopes City "just sell Haaland for £200m and use £60m of it to get Isak"

Definitely trying to get a bite out of you.

Isak's record in the PL is better than 1 in 2. If there's interest in January or the summer then we should have absolutely no qualms in asking for a record-breakingly high figure. I think you can reasonably discount Chelsea's lunacy when trying to define the market, but Darwin Nunez was signed for around £80million. If that's a guide price then I'd expect us to be asking for £90-100m.

If we aren’t in a desperate position to sell (like last summer), and we should never get ourselves in that position again, then we hold all the cards when it comes to any interest in him.

It’s great all these numbskulls think we’re not actually wanting to turn a profit on our golden goose.

Agree generally, but Isak probably holds the most important cards. I don't think he's destined to leave in the next 12 months but if we're not at least showing signs of qualifying for the CL, the writing is probably on the wall.

Like I say, I'm optimistic that we'll get this and another season out of him, but I think he's probably destined to join a club with realistic potential of achieving the biggest honours. That's not a reflection of us; he's just so good.

Next summer he'll have 3 years left on his contract. We are in great shape.

Anything less than £120 million should be immediately rejected.

Summer of 2026 if he hasn't re-signed by then, there'll be some pressure to sell.

At that point would still be looking for around £100 million.

Didn’t think he was at his best especially in the first half.  Cost the goal.  Non existent linkup. Weak as piss.

much better after his goal.

Seemed to have a buoy more stamina than usual. Still think his conditioning isn’t great.

I love him as a player. But if he could add one or two more elements to his game he’d be the best striker in the league.

No Europe is great for Isak.
