Diaby has always had problems with consistency. He seems to have been a bit of a flat track bully for Villa to date.

That's true, he's only scored against the REALLY SHIT teams this season hasn't he?

4 league goals, 4 assists. Not stratospheric, but struggling a bit of late.

There are some new foreign players who struggle for a few months around Nov/Dec time when the intensity of the league catches up a bit - once he gets used to this he will be fine - probably see really kick on in the next few months

4 goals and 6 assists is a solid return in his first season.

Alex Moreno and Pau Torres for us are great examples.

I saw Rodri last week say he's gained 10kg since moving to the UK because you need more bulk and strength for this league, and he mentioned it's really noticeable in Pau Torres since he moved here, too (they played together at Villareal, I think).

It's a league that takes a bit of getting used to for a lot of players.

Plus doesn’t help when you play Europa too - it takes its toll - definitely a shock to many foreign players - takes a good year to get used to the PL - plus in the case of most of these there’s no winter break in Dec, it’s relentless stuff

Just catching up with some highlights. Woodman looked awful for Preston and also tiny.

I always thought he looked slight and small when playing for us. But it seemed like he was about 5ft 8”.

Not a chance he is 6ft 2”.

WTF happened to Stoke? How's their ground so empty now?. When they were in the PL going there had a bit of an infamous reputation and now it's half empty.

Since they got relegated they've finished: 16th, 15th, 14th, 14th, 16th and are currently 19th, they've also been really poorly run both on the pitch by mediocre managers, and off it, which has let to a lot of apathy.

That sort of apathy and mediocrity will make the ground at most clubs look like that picture.

Don't really fancy Man City vs Huddersfield, so going for Shrewsbury vs Wrexham on S4C (Sky channel 134, you can get English comms) and have Newcastle women on the laptop more in the background.

Shrewsbury have missed 3 glaring chances, no excuse for 2 of them really, but still 0-0. They started off almost 4/1 to win, despite being at home and against a lower league side (although obviously not a typical L2 side), but they are currently 12/5 in play. Both sides unchanged from their last match, which is good to see.
