Rodri out for the season with a ruptured ACL

Sad to hear, whatever you think of City, one of the very best to play the position in Premier League history 100%, hopefully recovers fully (then goes to Madrid :) )

Yeah wanker Arsenal fans already crowing no doubt. Arteta has turned them into a right load of classless cunts

As hard as it is to watch City just steam roll the league in their random controlled (often boring style); watching Rodri completely dominate a football match and execute just about anything and everything is something else.

Some of the hatred for the fans here is pretty amusing [emoji38]. They’re one of the most supported clubs in the world; of course they have wankers in their fanbase. Now they’re getting there based only on speculation!

I probably don’t need to say it but while I only support one team, along with other teams I very much have a soft spot for Arsenal and want them to do well. That doesn’t mean I approve of Arteta, but he’s just the manager and a pantomime villain. Far more toxic things in football.

I have a fair few Arsenal fans in the family and some good mates who support them. Said a few times on here. They’ve been a bit like a second team for me over the years.

But Arteta’s carry on has certainly changed the way their fanbase are. All fans are guilty of the woe is me shit. Or thinking the refs against them. All the borderline conspiracy stuff and usual biased viewpoints.

But the ‘them and us’ mentality they seem to have imagined out of nowhere is so strange. They seem to blame everyone else for all their issues and mirror the way their whingebag manager carries on in the media and the dugout/halfway up the touchline.

They also have a very strange and worryingly horny online fanbase for their own players. They can’t get enough of fawning over Ben White FFS  I thought we were bad with the Cabaye and Schar stuff.

I would definitely agree on the ‘them and us’ view but I don’t think it’s anything deeply ingrained in most of their fans - it just so happens they’re the ones you hear most from as they’re apparent online and as Newcastle fans we also notice them more as it’s been in relation to our matches of recent. I think if the SJP fixture was reversed and Havertz created a goal like Joelinton too we’d be fuming. There’s been no shortage of complaints at the Prem being against us when we’ve had lots of VAR calls go against us too.

I genuinely don’t get how people seem to know so much about a fan base based on such small samples - they just seem to be a team Newcastle especially love to hate now, but they aren’t our rivals. Their manager is a complete prat but he’s just one bloke there at the end of the day. City have potentially done far worse but that doesn’t seem to bother people as much.

At the same time I know people love to hate a team as that’s how rivalries work, so I can’t change that.

Man City are on their way to doing what Bayern have just one with their 10 or 11 titles in a row. As far as I’m concerned, it’s anyone but them or Chelsea. Was supporting Liverpool for the title in 13/14, Liverpool in 18/19 and 19/20 and whoever can dethrone them this season. Don’t know how anyone can support them. That’s like wanting Bayern to win the title last year as opposed to Leverkusen or PSG to win their league as opposed to Lille. Man City are a manufactured football team and in video games terms Shao Khan in Mortal Kombat. You think you’ve won the game and bam, you’re in another boss fight against someone bigger stronger, faster and also they hit twice as hard. It’s absolutely boring and I hope they get relegated to League two exactly where they game from. A soulless football club with no history and as far as I’m concerned, all their Premier League titles don’t mean shit because of the way they won them.

And anyone advocating for them, why? They’re basically guaranteed a European place, it’s all of us fighting for the remaining spots. Least with Man U(under Fergie), there was some admiration there as it seemed like organic success, same for Arsenal and the Liverpool side under Klopp, selling their stars to fund their future. Man City can spend 100 mil on Grealish just to bring him on in the 90th minute. Sickening.

Man U had squad players like Kieran Richardson. Man City’s squad players. Matius Cunha. 60 million fucking pounds. Fuck off.

This 100%. Especially Liverpool or Arsenal.

I’m an ardent Newcastle fan but I’d much rather Liverpool or Arsenal win it than a plastic football team with no fans that was created in 2008.

So you were upset when Leicester won in 2016?

Probably, I'm a hater. But also fair play to them. I mostly dislike entitlement (Yankees excluded). So when those teams fail, it's fantastic. Leicester being brilliant is a different story and vibe altogether.

City winning the league is like no one winning it, so I greatly prefer that to Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool.

I just can’t get this way of thinking. Leaving aside the potential corruption, it’s so bloody boring seeing them win every time. Those teams would hopefully win it by being the best teams. Their manager or some melts in their online fanbases annoy people, but they aren’t the team. They’d also be way less annoying when they do win too. You won’t see Arteta going on one of his rants about how hard done his team is if they win the league.

Watch how annoying Man City’s fans become when they stop winning everything and get become frustrated.

Surely we should be looking for a bit of entertainment and excitement at the top of one of the best leagues in the world, over relief a team no one cares about wins it for the umpteenth successive time just as it means the teams we hate more didn’t get success

Dear god man pull yourself together. Anyone wanting Arteta to win anything other than a lifetime of herpes needs a check up.

I don’t really have any feelings towards Arteta.

Man City as a club are boring and soulless.

Agree them winning it is like nobody winning it. That was cool the first 5 times. Also I don’t have any illwill towards Arsenal either.

They also have a lock on every other trophy in the country. The League cup? Four, five six? times they've won it in the last ten years? Won the FA Cup three times in a row and then again a few more times before and after that one of them being a 6-0 drubbing of Watford in the final. It's just overkill and has taken the fun out of everything.

City as a club in my experience are a non entity, they'd be like Everton without the takeover so them being raised to a megaclub and corrupting their way to dominance is emotionally bereft. City won the league. Meh. They don't care, I don't care. The PL isn't a real league. It's a desperate attempt at a closed shop and it's funny that the other teams that gleefully pulled the ladder up turned around and saw another ladder in front of them as well.

I’m blinded because I think Pep is amazing and their style of football has been incredible. Little to dislike about them except that they bought success. But then, isn’t that basically the only way?

Admit that it would be nice to see a bit more competition, but it wouldn’t really make me happy if Man Utd won the league instead

I was thinking today how enraged they would be if we did to them at SJP what they did to City with that free kick for their first goal. They’d be calling for an inquisition.

City winning the title again, it'd just be meh for me.

On.the other hand, Liverpool or Arsenal fans celebrating winning the title and act endlessly like utter shitheads is insuferable. I'd rather laugh and enjoy watching them in tears and anguish. Couldn't care less if City fans were crying, if any of them do, if they didn't win it.

Hope City still win it over the other two. Imagine the media wankfest if Slot wins it in his first season or legohead finally getting the better of Pep.

You can’t cultivate anything if the soil isn’t fertile. He’s got the best soil in the country to work with.

I don’t see how it is that small of a sample size from my POV. I have been to the Emirates probably 10-15 times over the years. Work and socialise with plenty of them. My Dad and some more

of my family support them. I live about a 50 minute train from the ground.

There has been a noticeable shift in their behaviour. The way they went on after our 0-0 there the other season. You’d think we’d invented shithousing and time wasting. Never heard anything like it post-match.

People say Liverpool fans are entitled and have a victim mentality (not relating to THAT by the way). But this lot are miles clear in that regard, currently.

I know all fans are fickle, hypocritical, blinkered and only seem to focus on the injustices against them from refs. But there are levels to it.

It’s a shame that Arteta has made them such an unlikeable team and fanbase. As I’d rather someone else other than City keep winning it. Just not Chelsea or Man U, mind.

If the ends justify the means and they win the league. Then what will they care. I just find it mildly amusing that they’re now like Mourinho’s Chelsea. Masters of the dark arts, blame everyone but themselves, incredibly boring to watch a lot of weeks, 4 centre backs, heavily reliant on set pieces (jealous of that BTW). When they were always the moral arbiters of how football should be played under Wenger for so many years of my life and would often act like that sort of stuff was beneath them

My comments were probably booze and Arteta fuelled more than focus on the fans 😂 I know plenty of Arsenal fans, some are alright, but a few have adopted Arteta’s selective stance and what you often see and hear more recently. No biggy, every club has knobs 👍

I’m happy for Man City to ruin the league for the cartel the same way they club together to ruin the league for everyone else. Like Mike said, the premier league isn’t really a proper sports league, it’s rigged nonsense, so it may as well be Man City as far as I’m concerned.
