This is exactly it. Even if there is a minuscule additional touch, what exactly is VAR saving us from here? It's the same as these micro-offsides we see every week. There's no actual infringement or unfairness, it's just a stupidly pedantic enforcement of a rule that has changed in nature thanks to VAR.

this 1000 times. It's just completely arbitrary.

Not even sure any of us would've known Alvarez (might have) touched the ball twice without VAR. It's just nonsense.

Am I mad for not seeing a double touch at all?

Clear and obvious

As TCD likes to keep pointing out. Rules are rules. But nobody is actually sure if he broke them?!

The double touch was detected by the motion sensor fitted in the ball, which is primarily used for the semi-automated offsides.

Apparently.

Did someone not post further back they don't use that in the CL the same as they did in the WC?

It's that accurate that it can detect touches up to 0.005 milliseconds apart

As per the previous page, there is no such sensor in this year’s ball? Also, with his left standing foot coming in that close to the ball, could well be any slight move is caused by the grass rippling up. Ridiculous decision whatever way you look at it, unless there is other evidence VAR saw that we haven’t. There is no actual evidence of a double tap, let alone it being clear and obvious. Feels a bit like the arguments for our goal vs Arsenal should have been disallowed as surely there must have been something wrong in the build up.

Well I did add "apparently" to cover my back.

Saw Courtois called Atletico out on having a victim complex over it :idiot2:

Didn’t the Francoist cunts start shopping about for different leagues to play in after their injustice at the Bellingham sending off?

They boycotted the Balon d’Or after their 36th (probably) best winger on statistics failed to win.

All this carry on. Then spending any prolonged amount of time in Spain has convinced me they’re worse than Man U and Liverpool. I’m convinced of it.

I was a massive fan of Asensio pre-injury. At his best he was like a B level Madrid player. He was really handy in his last couple of seasons at Madrid too but mostly off the bench iirc.

Didnt pay attention to him at PSG. He’s come to Villa and just looks a class above. For us and Villa these are heady times.  I wonder if they have the feeling we have with Isak, Bruno, Tonali etc. like ‘these lads can do things I’ve never seen our players do in my life’. For me Bruno and Tonali are 1 & 2 CMs for us and it’s not close.  I don’t think either are ‘world class’ but they are so good it’s crazy.
