We showed it ourselves, if you are new to Europe or home a long gap without it, you don’t get as much Champions League money. I fail to see how Forest can sustain it beyond this season. Their owner isn’t as rich as he’d made out to be. He’s actually in the 3rd quarter of richest owners in the league. His wealth is equal to what the Saudi’s are said to be paying for our new stadium. Aside from this he also own Olympiacos, which are his boyhood club, his true passion, and are arguably the bigger of his 2 clubs on the European stage. Funtime Frankie
10 minutes ago, Stifler said: Aside from Leicester? I mean honestly, MON’s Aston Villa. It was just filled with English cloggers who had failed at the big 6 clubs, in an era when the English premium was just coming. They were nothing special, and a bunch of overrated overhyped players, and they finished 6th. I think they only finished 6th because the rest of the league was fucking shit. That team summed up MON as a manager to me. Absolutely fucking nothing about him, but looked good because at both Celtic, and Aston Villa he had the money which resulted in him finishing where he did. The Leicester League Cups aside, he was a fucking shit manager without money. Can't ever say a bad word about the guy for his first managerial job at Wycombe where he achieved successive promotions. I think he was very old school people manager who got the best out of players
Nobody
Man do I wish this utter rubbish Man U side were actually close to some actual trouble. As it is, they'll finish lower mid table at worst, which of course is a disgrace from them, but as bad as they've been, it would have been glorious if they were at least close to the relegation zone. The College Dropout
I just really hope neither them or Spurs get into the CL via Europa league. Man U seem capable of turning it on against big name sides. We must get 3 points against them. If we don’t. We don’t deserve CL. Our game is between their EL QF games. He’ll probably start Eriksen CM again. They seemed to lose in the Play-Offs every year, they sold Dyer to us, finally got promoted that season, then finished 5th with the likes of Wright, Bramble, Venus, Holland & Stewart. Took it to the last game to finish 3rd which would have been Champions League.
Wolfcastle
Aston Villa 89/90 is a shout. In the middle of being relegation material either side went and finished 2nd - top as late as late March. Other than David Platt and Paul McGrath who were good the regulars were - Ian Olney, Ian Ormondroyd, Chris Price, Stuart Gray, Paul Birch, Kent Nielson, Derek Mountfield, a decripit Gordon Cowans, Tony Daley and Kevin Gage. No marks who never did anything again. Going against a Liverpool that included: Rush, Aldridge, Barnes, Beardsley, Grobelaar, Whelan, Nicol, McMahon, Molby and Alan Hansen. Optimistic Nut
Wilnis, Magilton, Scowcroft. Was a Championship team. They signed Finidi George that summer and some Italian keeper and ended up going back down.

MON thinking he was some sort of modern day Clough used to really get on my nerves as well. I’m pleased he was phased out like most of the dinosaurs from that era
The College Dropout
The Villa side with Gareth Barry, James Milner, Ashley Young, Downing, Delph, Bent etc.? Good side that. Not many fancy foreigners but lots of good young English PL players. Young - Milner - Barry - Downing all in their prime. That's a very good PL midfield, especially for that era. Excellent professionals and characters to have in a squad. The first 3 would play PL football late into their 30s and be dependable players in multiple league-winning sides. Young & Milner winning league titles with 2 clubs. Downing himself got a Liverpool move too and I think he was ok from memory

Man United winning the league in Fergie's last season comes to mind, maybe Spurs finishing 4th under Conte. That Man Utd league victory was fergies greatest achievement ever IMO. Optimistic Nut
Oh aye, it was a definite one-off. Marcus Stewart for example was a good second/third tier striker but was on fire that year. Bramble probably went on to have the best career out of the group which says a lot. Matty Holland seemed a dependable midfielder but nothing special. The College Dropout
Us finishing 5th with Williamson, Santon, Raylor, Jonas, Shola, Leon Beast, Guthrie etc. A few quality players and a shit hot streak from Cisse got us there... and obviously a great team spirit and morale. Superior Acuña
Liverpool under Rafa and Chelsea under DiMateo were teams that won the CL and nowhere near the best team in Europe. The latter finished below us.
