I'd really disagree that the handball rule is clear. The consistency in which the handball law is applied isn't particularly great. Specifically when it comes to awarding penalties for handball.

I didn't agree with him the other day (I'm biased of course) but as I said, it's a game of opinions.

To be fair, if the roles were reversed and Madison handled the ball accidentally and Son scored as a result, I think many here would have been annoyed.

There's a difference between fans of clubs feeling hard done by and the manager going on every media interview and suggesting corruption by match officials.

The explanation is clear as is the rule. You can disagree with the rule and feel unlucky you didn't get a decision but it doesn't make the officials any less correct in the enforcement of those rules.

To then act all clued up about the rules and know all the ins and outs when a decision goes your way in the very next game is hilarious and makes you look a twat.

Genuinely don’t understand his point. The ref on the pitch gave the goal why’s he moaning about VAR. Lot of backtracking going on

Yeah he's clearly fucked up and trying to cover arse but doing it badly as none of that makes any sense in relation to what he was saying. Because our goal was given on the pitch so nothing he said there relates to that incident.

I’m yet to experience a cup final defeat which didn’t hurt despite expecting all of them.  I’ve got far less dislike for Spurs than I had for Man Utd in the ‘90s.

I didn't expect to win any of the finals we have played. Yeh it hurt but there was a feeling of inevitability. I had hope but did I think we would win in the pit of my stomach? No.

The Chelsea semi hurt just as much. Because we played so well, up against a good but beatable team and we would've been solid favourites in the final. The Man U semi, I had no hope or excitement for.

If we beat Arsenal over 2 legs but lose to Spurs in the final. That would be the biggest hurt of them all. Precisely because good or bad Arsenal sides, we don't usually beat them, definitely not away. Good or bad Newcastle side - we can go to Spurs and win home or away.

I do not know the feeling of going into a cup final and believing in the bottom of my heart that we should win.

Don't know if this has been covered or not but if we get to the final and loose to Liverpool they are nailed on for champions league for the league would we then be in Europe as runners up if our own league position doesn't get us there?

Brown bottle has answered this, and the answer is no, however, while we are currently in great form and should be looking to finish in the top 6, if we were to lose to Liverpool in the final then that would definitely open up another European spot for the league, which wouldn't be the case if we lost to Spurs in the final and they finished circa 10th. A Liverpool-Arsenal final would also almost certainly open up a European spot for the league as well.

It’s not embarrassment.  It’s pain.

I’ll enjoy the final against Liverpool no matter what. Against Spurs I’ll believe we will win, so losing would hurt so much more. If there’s one ‘top’ team we should beat its spurs. Which is why it would hurt so much to lose to them.

Exactly.  We might actually be ultimate Spurs - I don’t want to see it.

That’s par for the course. To Arsenal? Absolutely.  I can handle that. That’s normal.

I didn't have you down as the incontinent type, TCD.

We never used to talk about minutes added on?  If anything we talk about it less without 'Fergie time'.

The handball rules, at least for when your hands are by your side, are pretty clear now aren't they?  Only handball if the same player scores directly after.  Unless there's any other situations I'm missing?

It's mutated into cartel time tbh. It's subtle way to try and influence results.

It's only the Conference League mind.

For a club tight against FFP and a shallow squad - it's more trouble than it's worth IMO.

If we plan to sign a bunch of (cheapish) kids then it's fine.

Europa League without CL dropouts is immensely winnable and a route to CL so that's great.

Totally agree with this and said so when Man U beat hungover Man City to relegate us out of Europe... However it is an immensely winnable competition but ultimately would it be treat similar to the Fairs Cup?

If we could spend and build a squad for it I would love it.

Atm we would struggle to put out a proper second string team.  The additional games would kill our league form.

I would love to win it.  It’s just that it would ruin the league form imo.

Terrible crowd at Bramall Lane, apparently around 6k.

Must be a red and white striped thing. Some big factories in Sheffield so presumably they're all on t'backshift.

Looks like poor attendances at all the games tonight.

Sunderland expecting a poor attendance at the weekend.

It doesn’t bode well for the FA Cup this weekend.
