Finally get rid of Don Goodman. Then they go to the studio and that smug cunt mackem presenter is there waffling on. Can’t get away from the cunts

Glad I watched the derby in the pub, probably would've put the telly in if I was at home. Absolute fucking tosser

Have to give them credit for being solid and resilient but they still rely heavily on luck

They don't create a lot (lowest xG in the league) and the opposition regularly miss big chances

Last two games they've conceded 9 big chances but only conceded 1 goal

Xhaka and their two centerbacks were tremendous, as they have been all season. Xhaka reminds me of the impact Trippier had for us after signing.

Their spine looks really solid. The 2-3 meat heads at the back, quality keeper who is very proactive and then Xhaka having an outstanding season. Brobbey a handful up front and Isidor now on the bench was scoring a few important goals earlier in the season, I think.

Sunderland intensity was excellent and they deserved to get something out the game.

Their pitch however is a complete joke - surprised that is allowed in the premier league in 2025. Like Arthur Fowler's allotment.

As good as they’ve been they’d be an absolute mess without Xhaka on the pitch.

Maybe. But I think that’s incredibly reductive. They’ve had solid performers that suit their system perfectly all over the pitch. Mukiele, Alderete, Ballard, Roefs, Sadliki and Xhaka have all been good whenever I’ve seen them. Plus the left back who is away at AFCON.

Reminded me of our pitch from the early 2000’s.

Like when Shearer scored that volley v Everton.

That or Plough Lane

I think they've now beat arsenal, beat Chelsea, drawn against Liverpool and man city - oh and villa as well. You have to say fair play to them for getting 9 points out of those 15.

Drew against Arsenal? Late equaliser for them I think so they probably felt like they won it.

Fair enough but still a good set of results

To win 29 points from just 20 goals is some going mind, not sure how sustainable it is. They're grafting like fuck tbf though and every shot seems to be blocked or saved. They're working hard, being tough to beat and riding the momentum to the maximum, just don't know how long it lasts though, I sense a regression to the mean is now long overdue

I think they've only won once in the last 6-7 games. Wonder who they beat....

Yep but just checked as they drew with Everton and palace and beat Brentford - out of the top 10 they've only lost to man United.

Pitch it awful by PL standards. Especially when only half way through a season.

As I said above in the thread they can't score away from home, joint lowest with Wolves. A tight defence will only get you so far, hence all their draws. Lack of goal threat will catch up eventually. But they look solid and well organised, especially at home.
