I think we’re getting the WC at the perfect time. We’re the youngest squad here right now. In four years we’ll be the perfect age.

The midfield is really good base to build on but the lack of striker and the age of the centrebacks looks like a real problem, four years goes pretty fast.

Edit. Have no idea about potential kids though.

Dutch controlled that tbh. Content to let the US have it safe in the knowledge they wouldn't do too much damage. Always looked like they had a few more gears they could have used if it got close. Which it did. For 3 minutes.

Unlucky Americans, you played well this tournament and had some really good moments, you just need to a point where your premier striker isnt Josh Sargent, and to not be quite naive defensively as you have been especially today.

But other then that, the future is bright for this team, you have a young core of players who will be there in 4 years time, and who all play for Champions League clubs, and will be better for this experience. Can see you challenging next time.

Pulisic, Adams, McKennie, Musah, Aaronson, Reyna, Dest, Weah are all 24 or younger. Solid core for 2026.

We’ve got some promising young defenders bouncing around Europe, hopefully a few step up in the next few years.

This is the takeaway. We need a centerback or two and a goal scorer, but we have a lot of talent.

That’s the kind of tough thing as a U.S. fan. You can see the effort and desire there, but for Netherlands it looked almost effortless.
