The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Recommended Posts

I know what qualifying for the European Cup means financially, but can't but think that we'd be straight away one of the favourites for the UEFA Cup if we drop into it, and I think we've got the makings of a real 'cup team' vibe about us - our manager now knows how to win one, and we can beat anyone on our day.  And it is of course far more prestigious than the Conference League.  Dunno, I really don't think finishing sixth would be anything close to a bad outcome.

It wouldn’t from a footballing sense but will be from a PSR one. Getting in champions league would mean we’d almost certainly  keep our stars and opens up signing more players at a higher quality, see Tonali for example.

There’s no way Slot, Salah and Virgil let the performances slip.

Salah's in for the golden boot for starters.

Got Forest as well, very difficult run in.

Think it could become a lot easier than it looks on paper.

- Great time to face Liverpool at home

- Us is a tough game

- Man U at home is easy and a formality if they are in the EL final

- If Forest have already qualified for the CL, it's a much easier game too. No matter what i expect Forest will want to end the season at home on a high. I hope it's a winner takes all decider.

Chelsea now the outsiders with the bookies (not including Villa as they’re pretty much done at 18/1)

18/1 still seems crackers to me - I haven't placed a bet in 25 years but that is seriously tempting

I agree with both of you, if that's allowed :D

Can’t see anyone except us qualifying early TBH. Certainly not Forest or Chelsea with being 2 points behind us.

Forest have a game in hand which they play in midweek. Win that and they are a point above us. They could easily qualify early, but to do so would also likely result in us qualifying early as well.

I just don't think Villa are as out of it as the bookies and prediction models would have you believe. Fully expect them to win all 4 games, especially given the last 2 are likely impacted by the Europa League final. We need 7 from 12 IMO.

Be a bit flat if Forest-Chelsea on the last day has nothing riding on it.

Personally taking each game as it comes. Perhaps because of having done the prediction table a while back and seen how tight it ended up, its better that way.

Would feel a lot better if some result in another game went our way for a change, be a bit uncomfortable playing Brighton if none of them have dropped something beforehand - no 6pointers but tricky fixtures.

I reckon we confirm top 5 by full time vs Chelsea.

No idea and really don't care who else does what when

All it'll take is this:

Villa lose to Fulham

Chelsea lose to Liverpool

Newcastle beat Brighton

Newcastle beat Chelsea.

It's not likely, but that set of results is hardly beyond the realms of possibility.

Villa play twice before we play against Chelsea, Villa just need to drop points in either of those 2 games along with what you said in your other post.

I also believe Chelsea don’t need to get beaten by Liverpool, just not to beat Liverpool.
