Dokko
£75m outside of the league is fair. Not great though. I'd want £85m+ within the league. We paid £55m for Wissa, ffs. 😫 Not sure I'm going to get over that.
toon25
Great price. Delighted it's not the Dippers or the Arse.

Because if they are offering us £55m, the same as we spent on Elanga/Wissa, then that is a derisory offer for a 24year old England international with potential to improve further still and a strong recent record in the champions league who we already spent £45m on ourselves when he was half the player he is now and have helped develop him with atleast 4 years still on his contract. I'm guessing now that it is terms agreed with the player, we will probably just get low ball bids from Bayern, the familiar media/Romano relentless updates all summer and then Gordon throwing his toys out the pram drama for "not letting him join his dream club" still to play out. Jaqen
The attacking talent in general in football at the minute feels like it's at an all time low. Looking at the European boot for this season only 6 players have hit 20 or more goals this season in the top 5 leagues. That feels really low? Snap your hand off for £80 million for this poser.

Mr Misery
3 hours ago, Mattoon said: He will be hard to replace in terms of skill and output... Skill. He can beat a full back when he knows he can out-sprint them. Otherwise nope. He can't dribble. His shooting accuracy is poor. Output. I will repeat for the umpteenth time (as me Mam used to say): three non-penalty goals and two assists in the league this season. That's poor. Good numbers against inferior European teams. He's a good penalty taker. Overall a flat track bully and should do well in the German league at a completely dominant Bayern. I'd take £60m and get rid quick before he has a shit world cup against well-organised deep lying defences. Edited May 13 by Mr Misery

Sounds more l like we’re OK with his people discussing terms, as we’re willing to sell him, subject to our price being met.

Surely the price should be agreed first? We hold all the cards here - he's years left on his contract. We should tell Bayern to jog on if they don't match our valuation. Moose
If we meet in the middle and go with 65m then we'll have done quite well. Most importantly, we're not selling him to a Sky 6 club

This is always such a silly argument. Like penalties somehow count less, or don’t require any skill whatsoever. Lucky he’s been perfect on pens…if he had missed even a single one this season y’all would be spitting blood about it until the end of time.

As others have said, these type of conversations with third party agent types, prior to any club agreement, seem to be norm now. No doubt we engage in it. There’s absolutely no way we would have piss-farted about for ages with the likes of Wissa, Guehi etc, if we hadn’t already spoke to their ‘people’ and had the broad outline of what kind of package we were gonna offer them. As others said, take them away from his numbers and it's below par season for him. If Barnes was good at them and was the designated taker and you added those goals to his open play stats he would be posting massive numbers. A free shot at goal 12 yards out is a hell of a lot easier than trying to score from open play when everything is moving quickly. It's a good way to stat pad if you can become your clubs main taker. See the likes of Palmer, Bruno F (before this season) Kane, hell even Shearer massively boosted his tally being a great pen taker. My main point was if he wants to be away then get rid and the same applies to anyone else.
