When he's on form he's a very good player but not elite , a lot of his game that makes him good is when he's pressing relentlessly and working hard like last season , he's only half the player when he's not bothering to do that like this season. Some of his finishing gone down hill (or not improved) so the stats are low, but don’t think it’s close to Miggy purple patch stuff either. Like for England, he’s shown far more than he has for us, in terms of his performances, so the ability is there, just form and an air of his effort/attitue slightly off, Probably go as far to say, he’s not the only one, so I don’t think all is rosey on the training ground / behind close doors this season. I thought he has arguably been at his worst on the left. Not sure if teams have just figured him out and we struggle to get him in space and isolating a defender. He’s a bit below his levels because of injury and/or burn out. Whether it is still a mental thing after we were trying to sell him in the summer. All of the above? Whatever it is. He doesn’t seem right at all. Not to go all amateur psychologist. But his body language and demeanour seem off. Doesn’t look as arsed about the game, winning the ball back after he’s lost it yet again, tearing about like a dog going after a ball. That was what made him so good.
