I think he went to push him in the chest and caught him in the face. Letter of the law it's a red.

Having watched the incident I think the ref thought he had thrown a punch when in fact he just tried to push him off.  I would have said a yellow was appropriate but van Heck made the most of it by rolling around on the ground and conned the ref.

Some irony given less of the roid rage from Gordon and we wouldn't be a first teamer down an upcoming cup final and possibly be in the QFs of the FA Cup

I’m not convinced it has to be a read, although I’m not going to read the letter of the law. For one thing, he bends down and Gordon doesn’t raise his hands. He makes contact above the shoulders but it’s not a strike and it’s clearly accidental/random.

I've been consistent in my criticisms (& praise) of Gordon, his sending off unfortunately doesn't come as a shock to me.

I do think the Brighton player bends down a bit and that's why Gordon catches him.
