I'm sorry, like.  But if a guy is illegally pulling your shirt, why can't you push him off you?  Again, probably in the face is a bit much.

Gordon's not even looking at the ball.

I think it's a red, just a soft one and dumb as fuck.

I don't agree with the poster who said the Brighton player ducking his head made it hit him there instead of his shoulder, he was looking at his head the whole time.

Just as someone who was slightly hot headed as a youngster myself, I can understand the rush of blood to the head after the same player holding him twice, impeding him (even though the whistle had already gone this time), would result in a 'get the fuck off me' push.

I'm not going to judge him too hard, as frustrating as it is.

Daft as fuck but given the flag was up and had been for a little while it’s annoying the game wasn’t brought to a halt before it happened.

Based on that pic I would still challenge the card - nought to loose.

That picture wouldn’t provide any defence at all tbf

Was pushing him off - doubt he meant to push him in the head

It’s not going to get him off from putting his hands into another player’s face.  If anything, it makes it worse - it’s a bit of shirt-tugging.

My impression was that it looked worse (as in a push to the head), not because Gordon actually aimed at pushing the guy's head, but because the guy dipped just as Gordon was pushing him, which then looked more like Gordon was going for the head. I think it was a push, sure, but not deliberately aimed at the guy's head. Was daft and borne out of frustration for the previous incident not being given our way, thought the ref was shit today again, he's probably a Liverpool fan or has scouse relatives :hmm:

He’s a baldy horrible cunt, Taylor. Hated him since he didn’t give us that blatant penalty at Old Trafford when we were 2-0 up under the plump lovely Spaniard.

Hope he doesn’t see good Friday the corrupt Manc bellend.

Gordon massively fucked up today but he wasn't alone in being sub par. I just think he got sent off because of frustration at his own performance. Or I hope so...cause he was fairly shite...again.

He's clearly our best player in that position, but he gets far less shit than his counterpart with equal goal involvements on the opposite flank department being less talented.

I mentioned in the game thread, I wish he would not play forward with his head down, he ignores/doesn't see any of his options.

I haven't seen the entire game, but on the basis of what I saw, I agree. He seemed to be trying to do too much on his own.

Should be made to walk from one side of SJP to the other on hot coals.

that tweet is ridiculously over the top. Gordon lost his head for a split second in a heated moment. The cup final was probably furthest from his mind. The kid will be absolutely devastated he’s missing the final. Easy to tweet such bollocks when you’ve never played a professional game

edit: the same fuckin idiots slating Gordon will be wanking themselves silly at the thought of Newcastle signing Cunha but he did yesterday & v Ipswich was far worse.

Yea, I just watched about an hour ago the Bournemouth Wolves game and Cunha royally fucked that up.

Hands up if you never fucked up in your early/mid 20s?

He's a young lad who made a mistake in a high-pressure situation. Let's not overreact.  It's shit and it'll have a big impact on us in the final, but it's still just a human being doing something stupid.

He’s a temperamental character. Long term I’m far more worried about the fact teams have now figured out you just show him the line on the left and he’s ineffective.
