Selling this lad would be every bit as bad as the day when Waddle/Beardsley/Gascoigne/Carrol were allowed to leave. In fact it would be worse in some ways, since we are now supposed to be one of the league’s most powerful clubs.

 

Regardless of whether the story has any truth in it, this is a staggeringly bad look for NUFC.

 

Makes you wonder if these owners are now seriously revising their ambitions and intentions.

Still think it’s paper hype…BUT if the club run with this, there’s some massive questions to be asked of them. Selling your player of the year because you balls up your accounting is tantamount to gross negligence.

We would need to sell him for £70m to £80m to make a decent enough profit to affect PSR. Convinced this is paper talk however if not the club have hugely messed up.

Yeah it's an absolute shambles if we have done that , no way can we be that desperate surely that we would even need to contemplate it and if we are then someone has fucked up big time at the club. We can criticise the PRS rules all we want but this one would be on the club.

My take on it is Liverpool made an enquiry and we said he's maybe available if Quansah is involved in a prospective deal, Liverpool said no and then the press release came out (from them rather than us) to make it out that we were the ones actively contacting Liverpool.

 

The above is all very leaned to us but a Gordon sale don't make sense.

It was never mentioned, which is strange. But all the typical sites with this information say it runs till June 2026.
