Dr Jinx Posted yesterday at 09:37 Share Posted yesterday at 09:37 So if the club is valued closer to 1bn now, do you think PIF have a number, a value, where if it reaches that and there is interest, that they would sell? The initial investment in players was to ensure we stayed in the league and with just a few more additions we got top 4. They haven't invested or been able to much since and we've dropped off. I am sure they'd be delighted to win something but it doesn't occur to me that they are doing EVERYTHING they can so ensure that. It's not a Middle-East vanity project. We're all waiting for some financial flex that may never come, so in itself worrying about PSR or whatever other bullshit the cartel wants to protect themselves with, it's sort of irrelevant. Announcing a new stadium would go some way to putting my mind at ease but so far, all we have is a feasibility study, maybe costing 100k? And of course we do not know what they are discussing behind closed doors, the answer could well be "not now". Regardless of whatever happens, we're never going back to the Mike Ashley days so i'll always be thankful for that.

You compared to LIV, I just assumed that they were a lot more dynamic with them because there was less obstacles they needed to overcome to crash onto the world class golf scene. Football is a lot bigger and more complicated.

I've said it enough times now, but I think for that it would have to be a vanity project. To make us no 1. TheFFP/PSR as they are currently being interpreted make that very unlikely. My concern is that it now reverts to an investment project with a limited ceiling, in which case does throwing loads of money at it make financial sense? The College Dropout Posted yesterday at 10:14 Share Posted yesterday at 10:14 Again - I don’t follow Golf. But is it not a case similar to boxing that you come in with lots of cash and get your way? Similar to the boxing. There’s like 5 major boxing promotions and they are all selling to the highest bidder. It doesn’t take elite business acumen to take over the game. It’s easy to build momentum. Football in 2024/25 is far more competitive than boxing and I assume golf. Write a big cheque in boxing and the biggest enemies will hold hands together and smile. 37 minutes ago, huss9 said: just thought they'd have worked as close to the limits without breaking them. sure they could have persuaded a few compamies to sponsor us for a year on a rolling contract or something. a stand, the traiing ground etc. even the stadium. they have a lot of trading partners around the world. Agreed. That to me would be ‘doing everything they can’.
