Were there particularly strong rumours about Anderson and Minteh before we sold them?

Can’t really remember tbh, and all the journos now report that it was ‘well known’ we had to sell to meet the deadline, but I don’t really recall there being a sense of panic on here or elsewhere in the days leading up to it?

there were strong rumours we were selling someone.  Gordon, etc

Still will. Giving their business in Jan, they’re happy to gamble. So will probably gamble hard they can get top 4 (5) and play with fire.

Selling women’s team is short term especially when their commercial revenue isn’t massive.

How?

The idea was that they would be forced to sell some type of prized assets to just become PSR compliant. And they wouldn’t have money to plug gaps in the squad. Thats not going to happen because their owners have been wily with PSR.

By June 30th? Of course.  It became apparent Minteh was going to be sold in the last week or two. Think he rejected Lyon at a higher price.

Anderson was later and Vlad later still. But all before 30th June.

We dealt with the PSR issue at the very last. Which is why we made such rushed and bad deals.  Pretty much every other team had done the bulk of their business prior. Forst sold £50m worth of player to Lyon.  Villa did their business earlier, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester etc. or at last the transfers were widely reported.

Mind...Man United look like they have maybe one last roll of the dice before they drop.

Colour me skeptical, but the PL nailing Man U to the wall? I'll believe that when I see it.

It honestly feels like we’re caught up in one of the most blatant scandals in football, yet somehow it’s all completely legal.

What’s unfolding, selling women’s teams, selling hotels etc would make those implicated in Calciopoli blush!

I really hope fan groups can come together and take a stand. We saw with the Super League that fan power can make a real difference.

Its a fucking disgrace. We're fucked though because somehow we seem to have a collection of apparent football fans cheering it on.

Nope. They just don’t want to keep losing money and PSR is a way for them to limit their spending.

It’s only Villa and Chelsea who seem determined to invest at a crazy rate for a sustained period of time. We don’t. Forest have slowed down.

If Villa do sell their womens team, it will be interesting to see what value they've placed on it.

Chelsea sold theirs for 200 million, but they've won the WSL year on year and consistently challenged (but always fallen slightly short) for the champions league.

Villa by contrast are awful! They're in the WSL, but constant managerial changes and rubbish transfers mean they're no where near Chelsea levels!

What a fuckin farce. It’s well within the rules but makes me so angry we had to sell Anderson and Minteh while them and Chelsea just sell something that doesn’t impact the men’s team in the slightest

They only got 55m yikes very little value from a powerful card.

It’s got them out a hole. Prevented them from selling and might even stretch to them signing someone. It’ll do them

I’m getting frustrated with our approach to this to be honest. We sold two top talents and bought a useless keeper to comply with these regulations last summer.

It’s a choice by our owners to not exploit these loopholes.

What do we have to sell?  Our women’s team won’t fetch much
