Miley needs game time to up his level and develop. If he’s not looking getting many meaningful minutes with us I’d like to see go on loan in Jan. Guardiola managed Foden this way. He didn’t give him full game time for like 5 years and he’s developed great.
Kanj Posted Tuesday at 13:38 Share Posted Tuesday at 13:38 I think you keep Miley here training under Eddie Howe and his team, developing not only his understanding with his own teammates but tactically learning from our team and analysts. Sending him out for 1st team minutes to a team with inferior coaching doesn’t always pan out, particularly if he’s a loaned player, always seems that unless its a desperate situation or loaned player is playing brilliantly they get shoved right back down to the bench in favor of someone who is contracted to that specific club. Considering our loan team, it's probably not the brightest of ideas to send him out....sitting on a bench in Dumbarton never getting any minutes
jackyboy Posted Tuesday at 14:20 Share Posted Tuesday at 14:20 I think he's already a member of our first team and proved his class whenever he had to step up. No way will he benefit from being loaned out to a lower division team

Kanj Posted Tuesday at 14:29 Share Posted Tuesday at 14:29 Honestly, if he’s getting loaned it - it should be some continental Europe team - La Liga or something.
Conjo Posted Tuesday at 14:40 Share Posted Tuesday at 14:40 Howe was very clear in one of the recent pre-match press conferences that Miley is not being loaned out. What's sparked this discussion?

The College Dropout Posted Wednesday at 00:43 Share Posted Wednesday at 00:43 The Championship is a great place for a player to develop. Jude was playing there at that age.
GEFAFWISP Posted Wednesday at 10:49 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:49 Not all loans are created equally, no point unless he's with a manager who can commit to playing him and help develop, that's not a given. I don't trust our loan team to get him the right placement and I'd rather see him given minutes ahead of Longstaff or even Willock come season end. Anderson would’ve excelled here at us. Just he got an injury at a time when he was starting to click, even back end of season he was looking bright. Easily forgotten how many minutes he was getting last season. Think if he didn’t get sold, he would’ve easily been ahead of Willock in the pecking order. HawK Posted Wednesday at 16:51 Share Posted Wednesday at 16:51 Aye last season should have been the making of Anderson, but he was injured and Miley took his chance. Sliding doors moment
Toonjam88 Posted Wednesday at 22:42 Share Posted Wednesday at 22:42 He is 100% not getting loaned out but Howe needs to start using him instead of bringing on players like Almiron when he has no future at the club. Pissed me off when he left him on the bench against Brentford in the cup and brought him on.

Heron Posted yesterday at 09:20 Share Posted yesterday at 09:20 (edited) Willock offers us more than Anderson. In all honesty - whilst I liked the kid and he's a good footballer he was probably 4th or 5th choice at CM for us. I'm of the view Miley holds more promise for us. buzza Posted yesterday at 11:33 Share Posted yesterday at 11:33 I am not a huge fan of miley but think he will be a useful squad player for us. Kind of similar to sean tbh, especially as we are reaching for the top over the next 3-5 years. I just haven't seen enough/any "star" moments from him that make me think he will be an undroppable player. Hopefully, I am a footy fuckwit and he turns into the next Rodri! Here's hopin' !! I’ve seen hundreds of academy players do similar and then drop out the game. I really want him to do well. Needs to be exceptionally good as he has real no turn of pace , he can cover the ground though and has a great football brain. Sibierski Posted yesterday at 12:10 Share Posted yesterday at 12:10 Depends on his defensive / danger reading ability, but I do feel if he’s naturally got that which can be tapped into, then the deep CM where everything goes through him is his long term position for club and country. Very comfortable receiving ball with his back to play which is key in that role. But at his age, he’s got plenty of time to grow into that with his technical ability.
