Not ahead of Willock for me. The problem is of course Willock never stays fit to build up his form.

He should be ahead of Willock imo, he's a more dependable player in possession, a more intelligent footballer, less prone to being caught on the ball and arguably more of a goal threat particularly in terms of key passes around the box. Willock works in certain circumstances in a very open game which are few and far between, but generally I find him rather wasteful and frustrating.

He's probably not ahead of Willock because he's in a similar mould to Bruno and Sandro.

Don't think he is quick enough over the first metre for the deeper role, think his future lies in further up the pitch, recycling and probing defences

Worth remembering how little football he’s had. Will only get better

They're different players obviously, Willock's pace and forward runs make him special as a central midfielder, gives us something different in that midfield. I love Miley and he has a bright future ahead of him but he's still only 18. I'll obviously understand if we let Willock go though, the constant injuries are just a nightmare.

You’re all aware we played Bromley, right? Still, nice to see him back. We need him out on loan next season.

You are aware he didn’t look out of place against PSG either, right? Sending him out on loan while having Longstaff deputising would be idiotic. We just need to give young Lewis game time when the situation permits it.

Of course yeah, different players - I do think though if we let Willock go, it won't just be because of the availability issues, but also because he's failed to develop as a player (obviously not helped by the injuries) and isn't influential enough when he does play.

This. I can imagine the day he is competing for Joelinton's spot and that day may not be that far away

He looked very promising today, relaxed and with good awareness. Deserved an assist for the Osula through ball then scored immediately after, shows he's not getting too worked up over chances missed.

Very impressive for an 18 year old just coming back into the team from injury. Would like to see more of him.

So why should Willock be in front of him if he’s hardly ever able to play at his best? Long term there can be little doubt as to who the best prospect is.

His short range passing is like a 30 year old but he still needs to become more aware defensively. The fact he has Bruno and Tonali with him gives me hope.

I felt like he had extra pace?

He has character on the pitch, even though he seems quite quiet off it. In an ideal world, he'd get a loan move to another PL club, but since he's possibly our 4th best midfielder, we really can't afford to.

I want to see more of him. He could easily come on for Bruno or Tonali in games where we are winning.

When fully fit he's the better player, and better for our midfield, makes it more dynamic. But as I wrote here earlier, I'll understand if we give up on him due to the injuries.

Said it before but would love to see a midfield of Miley, Tonali and Bruno. Think they could really control games. At home to weaker opposition where we don’t need Joelinton’s physicality as much would be great to watch

Played well beyond his years for me, can forgive him for the goal as he hasn't played very many minutes at all recently.

It was like he was asked to play the 6 the same way Tonali does today, by keeping the ball moving as much as possible, and not forcing it forward unless certain. I think we would have been even better if Trips and then Bruno when he came on didn't keep taking up similar positions, which, ad senior players you'd kind of expect them to want to rake control in an under strength team.
