It’s just modern life isn’t it, so many things are shitter and more disconnected. We’re way less present and in the moment than we were in the past because of so many distractions. Everything’s more watered down and sanitised. Not saying I want hooliganism but life is just so uniform across the board

I didn't go on Wednesday but on the way back from Man City 2 weeks ago my gut instinct was along these lines. Honestly felt out of place and not only didn't enjoy it but felt like I didn't "belong."

at liverpool it looked as even some of the regulars had given up trying to get people to sing and the whole end would go silent.

a young'n behind us would start a chant and we'd join in but it would peter out in less than a minute with no one else joining in.

home fans put us to shame.

I know you jest but I'm absolutely dreading it. Standard that we'll be welll beaten on the pitch, but we're going to be humiliated in the stands as well. Still going like but genuinely not looking forward to it one bit. Sad really.

It's billed as an FPL podcast, but the main chaps (James) analysis of games and wider issues in football is really good, they often have dedicated shows to the latter. Not a huge fan of his co-podcaster (Suj), but it's still worth a listen.

I did my first away of the season on Wednesday night. I was genuinely shocked by how bad the support was. The lads in front of us kept turning round in bewilderment when we were starting songs off. it mebbes wasn’t fair (however life isn’t fair and networking is a great skill that helps you in many other areas of life) but they’ve also been replaced by some who haven’t done the hard yards and dare I say it wi t be there when we’re shit again by which time we will have lost them. 
 

im still hopeful that we will see people give it a go (like v Arsenal in semi or PSG) and that given there’s likely to be no ID checks done of the lads who don’t / can’t go away anymore will get tickets. I know a few who fall into this category older LB lads who didn’t go in 2023 but are going to this.

tbf though it was similar last time we were at wembley pre-takeover.

chelsea semi - a few of us tried to sing but no one joined in and plenty hacky looks - maybe just where we were sat, but again there were loads who obviously hadnt been to an away game before.
