I've seen plenty of footage with our lot doing similar to what I done, went ballistic then once I calmed down, hands on head wondering how it was gona play out. I usually only start to relax if we're 3 clear Sound like a reet misery here but that's how I've been programmed with nufc, hopefully that will change now. There were genuinely people around me who seemed like they were worried Spurs would get back into it when we beat them 6-

And yeah, I was one of the miseries who predicted another dismal defeat. I still watched it though but bit my nails the entire time. When the second goal went in was when a sliver of belief started to kick in. But when they got the goal back I was certain an equaliser was coming. If it had went to extra time I doubt I would have watched it. For me the really delightful thing isn’t the winning of a trophy, it’s the now knowing that there is no NUFC curse. I can go into any future cup final and merely worry about the result, rather than having to worry about the football Gods having a grudge against us. Danh1
Just watched the game back. I enjoyed second half when they had the ball that we were booing them. Also booed YNWA. Lovely.

Superior Acuña
From nufc.com Quote One slight dampener on the day were the arguments between Toon fans about standing or sitting which in some areas almost came to blows. The persistent standing messages on the screen caused heated debate, as did the footage of Shearer and Ant & Dec shown to be permanently standing. Never saw any sign of this thankfully. NSG
As far as I could see the whole end was standing, bar a few hundred in the upper tier near the half way line. Given the age profile of some of our fan base I think that’s an awesome effort. I didn’t see any beef towards those sitting and people were very respectful. The fella in front of my 9 year old son even offered to sit down for the game so my boy could see, even though he wouldn’t have been able to see himself. I was in the upper near the halfway line about halfway up, everyone was standing infront and to side of me. Noticed a few sitting down behind me but not many, atmosphere was tremendous still and nee one whinged about us standing.
joeyt
Wish I could bottle up that atmosphere from Sunday and relive it all again. Absolutely amazing to be there
PRL
Yup, my old man had to stand for three hours on the train from Wales (blame his latest wife) full of scousers with no seat in sight, straight to Wembley and then not a thought of sitting down for hours pre KO and through the match (thankfully back row so nobody behind us). Absolutely superhuman effort for someone turning 79 next month, not going to pretend I wasn’t a little concerned at times. We were club Wembley behind the goal and some sat first half but majority stood throughout. No cross words either way.
joeyt
Definitely saw some arguing amongst our fans in the top tier of people standing blocking the views of those sitting. We were stood up the whole game and it made the atmosphere incredible. Pure emotion
iklgizmo
It's such a difficult one as some people genuinely can't stand, so if people infront of them are standing, they can't see anything! My father in law almost didn't go because he was worried he would get abuse for not standing, but he's reported back that everything was fine.....and it was the best day of his life! Would be great if they could designate specific areas for 'constant seating', but that would go against the narrative that you're not really allowed to stand anyway!! Wilson
Another thing I enjoyed...the warning on the big screen read 'persistent standing will not be tolerated' Swiftly followed by a rousing rendition of 'stand up if you love the toon'
bobbydazzla Posted Thursday at 07:54 Share Posted Thursday at 07:54 (edited) Standing up leads to better atmosphere People are more vocal and more animated when they’re stood up, it’s not rocket science We should massively increase the standing spaces in SJP and do it both ends of the ground I think Anfield has about 12,000ish and the Kop is 100% standing. Replicating that should be our minimum aim, in my humble opinion Edited Thursday at 07:56 by bobbydazzla

Pure emotion I was top tier as well (second row from the front) and was fully expecting to have to sit down but when everyone started the match standing it was a welcome surprise. Definitely contributed to the atmosphere being as good as it was. It's just easier to join in with whatever is going on.
Wilson Posted Thursday at 10:37 Share Posted Thursday at 10:37 Aye I was 4 rows back in the top tier and everyone I could see was stood... As you say a welcome surprise as I was worried about being told to sit. Not sure why/how anyone would want to sit on a day like that... Outside of physical/medical reasons of course. Superior Acuña Posted Thursday at 10:40 Share Posted Thursday at 10:40 The stands were packed and standing well before kick off too, then everyone just stayed up.
TBG Posted Thursday at 10:41 Share Posted Thursday at 10:41 Didn't go but have ended up with a scarf from the game. Apparently there was 4 sat in front of someone I work with who had a bad reaction to the salt(?) they were sniffing during the game and didn't reappear for the second half. AyeDubbleYoo Posted Thursday at 10:48 Share Posted Thursday at 10:48 I was raging to see all the empty seats in the middle posh section mind, have to say. Disgraceful they’re allowed to go empty.

Bellis80 Posted Thursday at 13:36 Share Posted Thursday at 13:36 There were two rows in front of us lower tier, about 20 people, who had never been to a game in their lives. Few sat down on their phone half way through the first half.
