Young player of the season (under 24, choose a different player if they're also your player of the season): Caicedo - Overall, he's been superb for Brighton this season and a huge reason why they're sat in the top six. Showed maturity beyond his years in the middle and has even slotted in to do a decent job at right back too. It'll be a huge blow to Brighton when he eventually leaves. Manager of the season: Howe - As above. Underrated players of the season: Odegaard - I wanted to pick him for young player of the season, but he's 24. Behind Haaland he's probably been the best in the league this season, but he doesn't seem to get the same plaudits as Saka. Schar - He has been our best centre back in the second best defence in the league. It's criminal he isn't being talked about in the same breath as Botman. Ake - City's best defender and one of their best players this season. Alisson - He's quitely had an excellent season and has arguably been the best keeper in the league. Overrated players of the season: Grealish - He has improved this season and seems to have adapted to the way City want him to play. He has shown flashes of brilliance in a pretty average season. Ramsdale - He might be good with his feet, but his positioning leaves a lot to be desired. TAA - A lot has been made of his switch to midfield, but he still has the same fundamental strengths and weaknesses. He has a wand of a right foot, but whether he's in midfield or defence he's so tactically unaware and a liability when the opposition have the ball. For instance, Moises Caicedo has played very well but won't be worth the £80million Arsenal will pay (similar to a lot of Brighton transfers). I would add Richarlison (£60 million basically what we paid for Isak), Anthony Gordon (but still too early to tell for him), and Chelsea to the list. Would that not be overspent or overvalued rather than overrated? For me overrated just means the gap between how generally rated a player is vs how much you rate them.
