Bearing in mind he's basically never been here and Howe's had a hands off relationship with him, you couldn't really blame him for having no real loyalty to us and being highly attracted to Liverpool and continuing with the manager who oversaw his breakout season. I don't really rate Almiron and have wanted him to be sold for ages, but all these things - especially with a character like him - should be handled with as much dignity as possible.
