Yankuba Minteh (now playing for Brighton & Hove Albion)

Selling a player of his potential without even assessing him properly in our setup would be asinine. Unless we were to sell him to a mid to lower level PL club with a buy-back clause, basically a deluxe loan of sorts to ensure he plays. That would be fine by me.

But a sale to a Liverpool or a higher-level club without a clause would be a repudiation of our stated goal of developing young talent. And would be a prime example of how the rules are set up to favor the historically wealthy clubs now and forever.

I'd doubt it's an either/or Minteh or Miggy. I'd assume if Minteh goes then a higher profile RW comes in and Miggy still goes.

Imagine if Minteh wasn't already our fucking player, we sign him up, the excitement at his potential after seeing some of his stats for the season just gone

It'd be madness to not attempt to move some of the deadwood before him, like.

doesn't deadwood tend to move late window anyway, as opposed to early?

One man's deadwood is another man's star signing.

Miggy is hardly deadwood like, he'll have suitors in the 15-20m bracket

Maybe £15m from Saudi if we're lucky. He's 30 years old and on the decline.

What do you see him fetching from a non Saudi club ?

Don't think it's about being 'hard up,' it's about what represents good business. If we can turn a humongous profit on an asset we've invested pennies in, it's going to be tempting and, sadly, exactly the sort of thing we should be doing in the backward world of PSR.

The order of which we sell players is barely relevant, especially when it's going to be a huge bonus if we can shift the likes of Almiron at all (for any meaningful fee). Murphy shouldn't come into it imo; he's far too useful to sell for a negligible fee.

I see the reasoning of selling him for 40 to generate 120 in terms of FFP, but it's a horrific way to have to go on.

Part of the factor in signing these players will be the revenue of selling them on which has done well for Chelsea. Some will come back to haunt and some wont.

The feeder club factor caused by ffp/psr is in effect. Read that Villa may have to sell £60m worth of players this summer - even if untrue, just being plausible is a farce.

Its not like the club or any club can just pick who they want to off-load first, its no gage on a player or their understanding of relative players if we sell one player before another, its never been that way and especially now with these f*cking rules. Its not 'madness' if we sell Minteh before Murphy/Miggy.

So we need to get some money in but we don't ideally want to lose Minteh to anyone let alone a PL club.

If Liverpool are willing to pay £40M or so then surely there's a club in Europe out there willing to pay a loan fee of let's say £4M, assuming ofcourse Howe doesn't think he's ready for the first team.

Add that to whatever we get for Dubravka, Miggy and Wilson and that's our summer sorted. If only it were that easy.

Think you're undervaluing him, we'll soon find out ( if he agrees to fuck off )

The problem is he plays in the postion that is most affected by age, wingers rely on pace and stamina and that's the first thing to drop off. That's why the likes of Giggs and Ronaldo became more central as they got older.

Chelsea could have had Salah & De Bruyne through their entire careers and gone on to become an even greater club than they are (trophy wise). Arguably the two of the best players in the PL the last 10 years. Look at the state they are in now.

If Liverpool are prepared to pay that kind of money for a 19 year old Minteh, that tells me they see him as a potential replacement for Salah. Would be ridiculous to sell

Yes we may have to sell some talents to comply with FFP, but hope the club is wiser than selling the type of talent that could potentially be a generational one who has shown nothing but progress and playing regularl top league football since he moved to Europe 2 years ago.

40m would allow us to do a lot in terms of incomings this summer. We're clearly pretty tight on PSR and if the rumoured price is anywhere near true it's a lot of money for a player who is still a massive unknown.

Yes, there's a chance that he develops into a top class player and we'll be gutted we let him go, but if it allows us to be aggressive in the transfer market this summer then the rewards likely will be worth the small risk of that happening.

Selling Minteh now for 40m doesn't give us an extra 40m to work with this summer, it gives us 100m+ when you factor in how all the amortization garbage works.

With so much up in the air in terms of how PSR will work in years to come and the potential for PIF to be allowed to use their resources more freely, giving ourselves more wiggle room now seems like the way to go if it's a possibility.

I'd rather take a points deduction than selling Minteh to Liverpool tbh  Not only because he is one of the most highly rated talents in the world, but because its Liverpool.

Surely we should be taking a look at him in pre-season before we cash in as a minimum? £40m might end up being a steal for them for all we know. He's arguably done more than Gordon had when we paid a similar fee for him.

I get that Miggys out put wasn't great last season, but I feel he being disrespected and being spoken unnecessarily harshly here

Karma dictates he would be a world beater after offloading Carroll to them for silly money all those years ago........
