Does far more good than bad defensively, it’s his use of the ball that drives me potty. For someone who’s constantly telling others to calm down, he can’t wait to fire a quick pass to the opposition when we need him to put his foot on it.

His energy levels right now are zero, especially for his standards. At this point what is even the point in playing him? Looked absolutely tragic at the late goal we conceded and has been looking bad for a while.

He hasn't been his normal self but on 3 occasions made great interception or tracked back to put pressure on attacker.

I just don't think his intensity is sustainable for a season and its showing.

Seems like the last few weeks hes became more of a runner/coverer with less presence on the ball.

Yep. He's running hard as ever, but his control of the ball seems off, and he's not able to keep possession like he should be doing.

Are they? He slipped on the edge of their box and then ran 80 yards to massively help out the defence and stop them scoring. Along with the countless other recovery runs he made.

On the ball he has been wasteful and seems far less involved. But his workrate hasn’t dropped off at all IMO.

Looks more mentally tired more than physically

He has always been a bit sloppy with the ball and prone to giving it away. It's his only weakness really but he does seem to be doing it a lot more at the minute which is why it's getting highlighted by so many people . Still think he's our best player and needs to be in the side especially away from home.

Hang on it is early, let me just get this straight, you have just stated Sandro Tonali looked absolutely tragic? This was the match last night? I mean it would trigger a similar response if it was about him on a football pitch anytime ever.  But this was the game where he covered every blade of fucking grass. Multiple recovery runs and interceptions in our own box. Where he slipped outside their box but was still the first man back in ours? That Sandro Tonali?

Picking one moment in a game to characterise his entire performance is like saying did you see him fall over, waste of space,  can’t even stay on his feet. Do you actually rate any of our midfield?
