Kimbo
DCL would take up a significant chunk of our transfer budget and become one of our highest paid players.
Beren
Great move tbh. Leak these interests, and then sit back and watch Chelsea gazump the offer. Then pursue actual targets once they're spent.
Guest
5/7 seasons he's played 32 or more league games. If Wilson could have been that available we'd have been laughing.
LFEE
Another Saturday morning transfer link like Trafford… never a fan.

Andy84
Maybe in the minority but this would be a great piece of business imo
gdm
Really hope this isn’t true. Would rather roll the dice on Wilson being fit than spend a chunk of our budget on him
Andy84
How much we talking for him

You're making a lot of assumptions there - what our budget is, how much he would cost (last year of his contract), how much his wages would be. If he's £15-20m, on £70k/week and selling Wilson & Almiron still allows us to spend £50-60m on a RW it doesn't look so gloomy.
Barnes23
His injury record is a worry but he is quite considerably an inferior player to Wilson irrespective of that.

Dr.Spaceman
Interesting that Howe's signed Chris Wood and is now going for DCL, obviously a plan there to have two very different strikers at the club. I don't mind that at all.
OoOGazOoO
I have never seen the fascination about DCL, literally hope this one is just a smokescreen for something else, would be a rather underwhelming signing in my view.

He’s supposedly on around £120k a week at Everton, he’s not going to take a paycut. My guess is he would cost at least £25m.

He was getting no change out of our defence and we beat them 3 nil. He got tackled just before half time but you could see his head had dropped and he failed to show for the second half. I think that was the game where Livro walked the ball in to the Wolve's net.
Menace
So Howe is full in control over transfers then, he's wanted DCL for a while. Not a fan but willing to give him a chance.
54
If we get him for £10m/£15m and on relatively cheap wages, I'm not against it as a second choice striker, as he'll give us a different dimension depending on the game. Any more then that, no thanks. That said it's only Edwards reporting it, so it's probably BS

He has, the hope would have to be that Howe could enable him to rediscover the kind of form he showed under Ancelotti. A little bit like Rondon was transformed under Rafa after years labouring under Pulis et al at WBA. Seems like a big risk though for any kind of major fee, especially with our financial limits this summer.
Vaj
Wouldn’t mind signing Trafford and DCL if PSR wasn’t a thing as they are good depth but if this hampers our prospects of signing top players at RW and CB, where we really need it, then I am quite concerned. Will reserve full judgement until the transfer window closes but it is a bit of a come down from the, albeit very slim, prospects of signing Olise! gbandit
If DCL was able to be fully fit I still struggle a bit with understanding what his role would be in the team. Isak is our star striker. DCL is a fairly traditional striker with good movement but he’d have to occupy the Centre Forward position as he can’t drop deep or do the build up play so what’s the plan? That he only comes on when Isak comes off? E.g. he’s a sub? He’s good enough (if he has a clean bill of health) to be a starting striker for over half the teams in the premier league but not for us. I’m a bit baffled by this one
soyt
Rather than the injuries, I think the more worrying thing is that he has scored 14 league goals in last the 3 seasons combined.
Danh1
If true then I’m disappointed. Hes a good player but a crock. Will cost a canny bit too. Keep Howe away from transfers. Love him and thinks he’s done class here, but all the evidence points to him not being very imaginative in the market
