Anyone else craving a juicy rumour/preferably announcement?

We should get something soon if we need to sell before July 1st, although I wonder if clubs can successfully argue this based on players being at the Euro’s so they are unable to complete sales.

Yes we do, we spent x on Barnes and didn’t spend x on a left back or right winger.

If we go back a year most of this forum wanted those positions filled as a priority.

If we'd sold ASM and not bought another LW there'd have been major questions asked.

Disagree, at the time of that sale we still had Isak, Gordon, Big Joe and Little Joe who could play on the left.

The pickings are a lot slimmer on the right.

He's been good when he's played. You can't overlook the fact he's been unavailable for the majority of his time, his price tag, resale value and the fact it wasn't a priority position when evaluating the transfer though...

Also he wasn't a 21 year old, he was 26. That means every season lost through injury has a bigger negative impact on his resale value so he really had to hit the ground running.

That's not to say he can't still be fantastic for us, but the jury is still out somewhat after his first season.

Very strange that.

Made an enquiry? Which is then leaked. No bid.

Not really sure what they're trying to do other than maybe unsettle the player.

Chelsea can get in the bin.

We're in a immensely tough window. Bruno and Isak won't settle for another season after next of finishing outside of a Europe spot, but the only way to help that is spend the big bucks on the players to do that, which FFP is preventing.

I jokingly did think couldn't we just write a season off with spending big so squad is sorted for next 3 years, and just take the 6 points one season? It's not like it will relegate us  - but then we'd not need to spend unless it's youth.

Realistically we need to be finding more Minteh's and keeping them. You just can't keep spending £40m x 2 or 3 a year, but you can buy a lot of youngsters like Minteh for that, and you only need a few to come good. Simplistic view, but until FFP changes anything you spend big will end up forcing sales you don't want to make. The flux of ins and outs means the likes of Minteh could be the next big star you've sold and the lad you bring it becomes a Almiron regen.

For once not too bothered by what happens this summer, surely our injuries next year can't be as bad.

Both were highly rated tbf. Most people said at the time, Guehi was a coup for Palace.

The narrative on here would have been, we shouldn't be buying Chelsea cast offs, and we shouldn't be giving them money.

Then as soon as they go somewhere else and do well people start fawning over them, and claiming they were highly rated back then and would have been considered good signings.

When Chalobah goes down the same sort of path, I'll remind you.
