I am not well today. Rough as rats. So I could be making sense in my head, but not conveying it well

I guess I am trying to say I feel PSR is so restricting that it hinders your ability to realistically and fairly keep upgrading your squad at a rate it needs, unless you can buy cheaper and younger to mitigate your budget.

I'm done man  - I'm a mess today.

On that I think we agree. I just don’t think the answer to PSR is to hold on to expensive, old fringe players, but much rather to ensure a conveyor belt of talent coming from the academy. Obviously it is early doors for our academy producing PL level talent on a regular basis, but we should start thinking and acting this way, not least to be seen by prospective young players as a club where there is a pathway from the academy to the first team.

Schär and Krafth are easy options to keep from there. One year deal.

If you offer this pair one year you got to accept they will leave. Schar is a starting CB for a team currently 5th, he’s 33, not 43. Krafth is only 30 and has proved he can handle himself in the PL.

Would they sign one year deals?

Schar will know he hasn’t many years left and will want 2 to stay, he could get 3 lower down the PL or abroad I’d guess. Krafth at 30 will be able to get a 3 or 4 year deal elsewhere.

If you want players to stay you also have to consider what they’d accept and what would be available to them elsewhere.

Those others on the list are probably more likely to accept one year, as they have basically no bargaining power

You're absolutely right in fairness.

In a non-PSR world, we could allow those players to leave the club and replace them with younger, better players. That wouldn't necessarily involve spending hundreds of millions, but making deals such as that CB playing in France we've been linked with.

Eh?  Have you discovered some news or have you been on the sauce this afternoon?  Gin does that.  Makes you all depressed.  That's why I now drink Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region of New Zealand.  Champagne to toast the New Year.  Normally Moet but we are trying a different vintage tonight.

Haha no, just don't want to sell Isak or Bruno. Talk of that keeps popping up now and then

Dani Olmo has Man City written all over him. Which doesn’t help them at all.

He should probably sue the tattoo parlour.

That Nicolas Kuhn at Celtic has been mentioned as well now, for the right wing.

No idea how realistic or true that is.

He has terrorised in the Scottish League and has also performed at a high level for them in the Champions League too.

Saw these rumours too but think it's a risk given how poor the Scottish league is, I saw mentioned earlier that St Mirren are signing Gatesheads top scorer.

He has the tools to succeed but it depends on cost imo. At £30 million which is one of the rumours that's a hard no for me especially given the price tags of Cherki, the monaco lad or Dibling will be similar and all have top 5 European football.

Saw a report linking that Akliouche at Monaco with Man City for £60 million!

Seems like Dibling's price is only heading upwards and is going to end up around £45 million.

Kuhn was bought for only £3 million a year ago, and he's doing really well, but I agree, £30 million is steep! Especially coming from that league.

We're not rumoured to be in for him right?  He'll be able to pick which ever club he wants

In accepting Olmo will have way more enticing offers than us, who is this Pau Victor lad that's also needing released? He any good but more realistic?

Olmo is unreal. Plays every position properly, fucking absurd talent. He’d kill it under Eddie.

Yea, he's very very good. I had it in my mind he was more a central midfield playmaker type. Looks like he plays across alot of positions.
