Groundhog63
It is, or should be, fairly evident that there's going to be improvements this summer. Notwithstanding the noises coming out of the club and "journalists" we've an aging squad. Some of them have, maybees, reached their ceiling (being polite) & we've had 3 blank windows. We can only wait and hope Mr Mitchell has some gems in his database.

I’d say they have their targets but many will depend on where we finish this season in terms of Europe on offer for players. Like if we got champions league I could see us going for Mbuemo and then other players from Europe for other positions aside from say Trafford.
Nucasol
Italian rags putting out the Douglas Luiz-Tonali rumours again. Don’t see why we would trade a 24 year old for a 26 year old without decent cash coming our way.

Obviously Crystal Palace are a nightmare to deal with but Howe would make him world class  He is, but not this summer. No need for Palace to sell unless a big bid comes in, and if they want to raise funds, Guehi / Eze / Mateta will be ones higher up list due to contract. Think Liverpool may try a play though as they need another CM, but doubt it goes anywhere.  Window to buy Wharton will be summer 2026 when he should then be pushing for one. May align well with us if that's the summer we cash in Bruno at his final value (which it should be for me, but that's a different thread).

gbandit
He’s a cultured defender for sure, lovely ability on the ball and athleticism. Fuck PSR
The Prophet
It'd have been interesting to see if we'd have got a deal done if it wasn't for the PSR constraints.

His agent said we were in for him earlier and in position to tie up the deal first, but due to PSR weren't able to do so. Would have been at around ÂŁ15 million too.  There will be others out there. Just really good to see we are now looking at targets on a broader scale with Mitchell coming in. Going to be huge going forward. kingxlnc
I can see us going back in for Arda Guler this summer. He hasn’t played much and we were very keen before he joined Real. Could lock off that RW spot for a decade. The wait would have been worth it.

The Prophet
Talksport:  "Everton want boyhood Newcastle star  Everton are eyeing a summer move for Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.  Longstaff is understood to be open to the idea of leaving St James Park after struggling for game-time this season, with Toffees boss David Moyes a big admirer.  Newcastle know selling their hometown hero would represent 100 per cent profit under PSR rules as he came through their academy. Longstaff, 27, has played 167 league games for the Magpies."
