We’re going to have at least 46-48 games next season and we need a striker that can carry the load. We won’t do better than him at his age and with PL experience already and there’s sell on value too Him and or Mbeumo please.

Chelsea is the only side I could see that might throw a bid in just because they're Chelsea and not out of any great need. Perhaps Liverpool if Diaz who's always linked away moved. It's a fairly well stocked area of the team with a lot of players who could do a job there, maybe even Sanusi could emerge as an emergency option next season. Feels like having 2 top class players competing for one position is a luxury they're a few years away from being able to afford given the deficiencies elsewhere in the side. We’re trying to build depth, not deplete it. I don’t see Gordon or Barnes going anywhere.

Depends if there’s a clause or similar ala McAllister. Also do they demand ridiculous fee's from anyone other than Chelsea?
WilliamPS Posted Saturday at 13:53 Share Posted Saturday at 13:53 If Barnes had been sold when Gordon was doing well (as many had called for) probably wouldn’t have won a trophy and be in with such a good chance of CL. LW isn’t even fairly well stocked. Willock isn’t really a genuine option and Joelinton can’t be moved without weakening the midfield

Fak Posted Saturday at 14:57 Share Posted Saturday at 14:57 (edited) He's definitely worth signing but not at what we were willing to pay last summer. Edited Saturday at 14:58 by Fak
M1tche Posted Saturday at 15:00 Share Posted Saturday at 15:00 At 30-40mil. Id say that's a great signing. We need to raise that ceiling at CB, and we need pace. As much as his long range passing is not even close to Schars, he breaks the lines better with short passing, and his balls into the box for mid range crossing areas are better. black_n_white
Delap at that price is exactly the type of player we should be signing, right?

toon25
Delap would start for most of the league aside from us and City (possibly Liverpool). If he comes here to sit on the bench I'd be mightily surprised

Plus it looks like he could be useful outwide.
Joelinton7
He’s not good enough yet to start for Man U/Chelsea. The unrealistic expectations at those clubs would bury him. He’d be much better off learning from Isak and Eddie.

But I do wonder if he’s more suited in a 3 due to how poor he is in the air. Also he has regularly played LCB for Palace hasn’t he? Possibly a minor thing, but worth noting. If the price isn’t daft and it’s not a bidding war or another Dutch auction. Then I still think he’d be a great signing.
Conjo
Delap wouldn't be signed "to sit on the bench". Between rotations, sub appearances and covering for the inevitable Isak injuries I bet he wouldn't be that far off equalling Isak in minutes played. andycap
I think with delap it's more about us improving his game than playing all the time. He would be happy getting cup games European games and when Isak is injured. Aswell as off the bench all season.
midds
Do City have a buy-back clause for Delap? If they do then I can see them buying him back and flipping him a week later for £50m+ if the interest in him is there If it's possible. Can they do that?
